We present a simple shooting protocol (簡易演射步驟; jianyi yanshe buzhou) based on Gao Ying's Ming military archery form. Its purpose is to develop conditioning, dexterity, focus, and discipline. The protocol is versatile enough to apply to most practice situations, but you may modify its steps and timing to suit your circumstances.

Great! Can you tell us please how your breathing circle works regarding your shown steps?
@jtma04
@jtma04 7 лет назад
Hi Armin, Thanks! I take three breaths per shot. Magnitude of breath is same as normal breathing. I sequence the breathing as follows ("+" means simultaneous, "," means in sequence): First shot * inhale + Start, Nock, exhale * inhale + Estimation, exhale * inhale + Full Draw, Balance + Lightness (+ optional slight exhale), Focus + exhale --- Next shot * inhale + reset hands, Nock, exhale * inhale + Estimation, exhale * inhale + Full Draw, Balance + Lightness (+ optional slight exhale), Focus + exhale --- Finish

I'm new to asiatic bows and archery and I love it . No more center shot bows or shelves .Your videos took me from dropping arrows while trying to nock them to hitting my target at 15yrds in about an hour. You and Malta archery have helped me tremendously. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience ,and making clear ,easy to understand instructional videos . Dropping arrows and shooting 10 ft to right of your target is really embarrassing!

is it essential for the for to overdraw or could a chin ankor do as well?
@TheWayofArchery
@TheWayofArchery 5 лет назад
Well, "overdraw" for some is "just right" or "medium draw" for others. :) You can still incorporate elements of this with a short draw anchored at the chin. That said, I prefer the longer draw because it exerts less torque on the shoulder joints at full draw and leads to a more even use of the back muscles. Left-right / up-down anchoring is just a matter of ensuring the arrow shaft or feather is lightly touching your face in a consistent location. Front-back anchor is achieved by using a "bow hand anchor" (the ancient equivalent of a clicker): sites.google.com/corp/view/thebowhandanchor/home

Is this the same as the inchworm technique or a preparation exercise?
@TheWayofArchery

I'm having trouble finding the nock and cock feathers without looking. Any tips on that?
@hipanny3792

Use your hand to find the nocking point on the bow string ,but actually you can use your eyes to find the nocking point.

@@hipanny3792 I think he is asking how to find if the feather is on the right direction on nocking without looking.
