Really well done. I was very frustrated that I didn't know what a smart album was, and now I see how great it works. I am going to start organizing my hundreds (who knows, maybe thousands) of photos and get that satisfying feeling he was talking about when you see the numbers go down. Thanks!
he lack of this aspect of “Organizing” has kept me for years from being able to organize my photo’s, I so grateful that you published this. I have 9,000 pictures. Pretty difficult to recall what was ordered in 4x4, or was it 4x6. So now I can do one year at t time, and not order doubles, or put the same picture on 3 pages. Thank you, thank you. Mary
This was HUGE. Almost life changing. I'm frustrated EVERY DAY because i'm completely overwhelmed by my photos and videos, .... for my small business. And i'm a content creator, so i'm sure you can see how very pitiful this is for me! Thank you.
I was so frustrated every time I wanted to find a photo and this video got me all sorted out....and it was so simple. I'm so pleased😊. Thank you a million.
Thank god! Thanks! For like ten years, I always hated apple photos because I couldn't put them in folders and then know afterwards which photos I'd moved already.
Big help! After watching this video, I am encouraged, as I think I'll be able to do this as the instructions are clear, concise, and just what a beginner needs. Thank you.
This is the one thing that I could not figure out!! I kept trying to hide the photos that I had already put into albums. Thank you so much for making your knowledge accessible to all!!
Wow what a great tip, We have to live with this program and sure miss aperture, so I have lots of work to do 5,800 pics already down to 5,600. Thanks for all you're Tutorials.
Thanks for sharing this useful organizing Feature - way more than a 'tip' for those of us overwhelmed with unsorted photos. I popped over here from your 'iMovie Full Tutorial ' which is super fantastic: I can't believe how much I can accomplish with my videos, still pictures, etc. thanks to your easy-to-follow tutorials.
Brilliant!! I have 11, 595 pics ahhh. This is going to seriously help tidy up my computer and memories. Over 10yrs worth and back ups off old computers. Thank for such a simple easy to do tip.
THANK YOU!! as we go into winter, this is a major project for me with 22 thousand photos...you just made it easy with the 'unorganized photo smart' album...over 9,000 and then I want to back up my icloud..thank you!!!!!
Great info. I have 40k pics on my Mac and every time I looking for a pics would would take forever looking for the that one pics. Now I can start orginizing into photo albums, thx
I followed these instructions and all went well until the last step. I was able to click and drag a photo into an album but it did not disappear from photos. How do you know which photos have been placed into an album?? Excellent teacher.
Very cool video, finally I will be able to organize my photos so I can find them when I need them. I have 5,000 pics to organize from my new smart album. One questions. Do I need to create only one smart album?
Thank you so much David! You’ve answered a question that’s had me stymied ever since Apple abandoned iPhoto and made a huge mess of my well organized albums when it converted them to Photos. I can’t tell you how frustrating it’s been to try and find a simple answer to how to fix the endless list of ‘rolls’ it imported. Now I think I can finally clean up this mess. I’ll be following you from now on guaranteed.
Thanks again David for such a clear explanation of a complicated feature. Read many references to Smart Folders but never understood their use. Received a new MacBook Pro as a gift and immediately upgraded it to Mojave. Bought USB port adapters so I could, hopefully, view the thousands of photos/videos on 4 external hard drives. Wasn’t sure if they’d be readable as I had them for my PC backups. Boy, was I delighted after your classes taught me how to operate this spectacular computer. The hard drives opened right up and I can just drag and drop them where I want and I can even simply txt or email them if I wish. So now I’ll create a multitude of folders so I can sort as I go
David, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for this tip! I am so glad that you showed us a great way to organize photos without having to buy yet more utility software to accomplish what can be a daunting task of organizing photos. I have been wrestling with this for years! This makes my day! As for the technicality of your video, you are speaking clearly, enunciating well, speaking at a rate that makes the video enjoyable to watch (not speaking hurriedly) and you explain each step very thoroughly! You did a *great* job here. A '10' ! :-)
Even over a year after the posting date (with a semi-outdated MacBook Pro), this is exactly what I needed to help organize my pictures. It can be such a mess between work-related stuff screenshots, family things and personal issues. David, thank you so much! Subscribed and liked.
Thanks David, I have all your Apple Photo/I -movies videos saved. As a septuagenarian I appreciate your step by step approach which is easy to follow. 🤓🏴🤙🏻
I loved this suggestion David.I am going to try it out tomorrow. My questions is related to the many photos that I have scanned into the photos app. These give me the most headaches. Any suggestions on managing these?
Been looking for this exact answer for a very long time. Actually since I moved from iPhoto to the new version. Thank you so much for this simple video. Made my day!
This is terrific. Do you know a way to organize photos in a album by the date the photo was taken rather then the date the photo was added? I am trying to create an album using photos I took and photos my daughter took of a recent trip we took together. Thanks so much.
Very informative and helped me much to organize my photos, now I've created so many folders and in these folders I also created albums, problem is How t backup my work in case I need to clean instal or transfer to another Mac, is there a way to do so other than copying an extra large photo library
