Actually I like to print photos but have now printed so many I’m procrastinating and my lockdown project (yes 3 years on it is still the lockdown project) was to get the organised in the many photo boxes and albums I purchased!! Argh help! Some actual physical photo decluttering would be an interesting vid. Just found you. Hope all ok health wise …I know the feeling 🤷🏼♀️🫣😘
I wish when you move a photo into an album. It would take it out of the entire camera roll so you would only have it in one place which would be the album
I was starting to wonder if that would be coming up as the video played… so camera roll never really gets “organized”… you can just clean up the mess and albums for easier finding. Sounds like my biggest task will be not just going to look for something in camera roll
@@lindajimmerson8542100% agree. I like Apple, but when it’s about photo management / organise photos in albums without having doubles it is unbelievable that Apple don’t want change the photo app so that people can move photos from the camera roll / all photos to an album and that the photo really moves to the album and disappear from the camera roll / all photos.
What method will you use now? I am trying to delete any randoms/unwanted end of each week.m and print monthly on app that gives me 45 free prints (pay postage only) which has been a lifesaver!
Completely agree, just switch to an iPhone en the photos app is the worst. On android you get a picture from either WhatsApp or instagram and it goes automatically in the right folder, you don’t need to transfer every photo after you took them. Hope that iOS 18 does things beter even if u doubt it …
@@jonassacre3608 Yeah, I don't think it will change at all. I found online that you can 'filter' your photos and if you use iCloud you can transfer your photos more easily. It is still a hassle though, and I am thinking of switching back to Android in the next few months... I just think the battery life on the iPhone is amazing.. How do u experience the iPhone? Do you feel limited and locked? I like the face id system where it logs you in.. but that is probably also on android lol!
I have 30,000 and I really wish Apple could allow my albums to be put into A to Z order. I mean really, this seems like a no brainer; if I can organize my RU-vid playlist/library A to Z why can’t the big shots at Apple do this. Did they forget their ABCs?
Why can’t anyone answer the question of moving photos to different folders and not leaving a copy in the main roll. It’s putting me off iPhone it’s really odd
Because Apple is against. They don’t give you the possibility to do that. This is the biggest frustration when it’s about Apple. Moving a photo from the camera roll to an album is technically simple to do. Nobody can explain why Apple don’t want let people do. Such a common thing to do. Organise photos in albums without having a copy.
I always allocate time before bed, deleting photos I deem not necessary, failed or duplicating. But I think your methods are well organized and guided. I love them. Great tips.
55,000 that’s hilarious I just got done somewhat decluttering mine and I had 103,000 on my phone. I take a ton of photos every time I’m out with my camera .I thoroughly enjoy looking at my photos on my phone .I have them all separated into albums, but I need to do a better job of getting rid of the photos that just are subpar and keep only the best.
This is so helpful because I have over 18,000 photos on my phone! I started doing the challenges in the photo declutter community f b group too, and it helps motivate me!
The best thing to do is to back the pictures up in Google Photos and then delete them from your phone! Boom! No more photo storage on your phone! If you want to be able to pull photos up, either keep the ones you'd want to show a lot, or put the Google Photo app on your phone. I don't ever have to worry about decluttering photos from my phone. Easy peasy!
google photos as a secondary photo app on my phone has been what i’ve done for years and it is so helpful!! you can also use the archive to hide photos from the main page. i use it for photos i don’t really “need” but can’t bring myself to delete them 😂
does anyone know how to sort or find specific photos which arent in an album yet? loved this on samsungs but now switching to iphone ive been missing this T-T
Subject: Enhancement Suggestion for iPhone Photos App Album Editing Hello Apple Team, I hope this message finds you well. I have some feedback regarding the album creation and editing process in the Photos app. When I try to re-add photos to an album I’ve previously created, upon selecting the “Add Photo” option after entering the relevant album in the Photos app, it displays all photos. My suggestion is to add an option to automatically hide or show photos previously added to the album in this screen. This way, we can efficiently add new photos to the album without the need to select the same photos again. Implementing this enhancement would streamline album management, making the Photos app more user-friendly and enjoyable. Thank you.
I only have 132,000 on my iPhone but I have other phones and computers with hundreds of thousands of additional pictures. I have my family’s photos of over 100 years ago up to the present day that I need to scan in addition to boxes of reel to reel audio tapes that my uncle made of our family and labeled everything. Boxes of slides too. Both grandmothers had boxes of negatives too so I have no excuse to be bored. It’s good prison work.
sadly the camera roll is just a chronological stream of EVERYTHING. you can only customize custom albums. which I hate!! maybe one day they'll change it.
@@AdrienneFinchindeed. Totaly unbelievable that Apple miss this completely. There is a sort of solution. You can work with the File app or with shared albums (share with nobody) in the Photo app.
So, what's the difference between an album and a folder for storage? And if I put all my screenshots in an album will they go in there or will they be copied into it? at 9:22 Thanks.
Since I'm Samsung user, I returned to Google Photos (for universal compatibility), with 2 Google accounts: 1 for Personal+Work (More Important stuff), 2 for (Less Important stuff), and I don't let it grow more than 28GB of 30GB, boom! 🥰
Thanks for the tips! Like most people, my Photos has too many bad, irrelevant, or duplicates photos. BTW, interesting "Obey" hat. What is that about? Thanks again,
"Go in your camera roll page" ... title says "Recent"... there is no "camera roll" the "camera roll" it actually contains all images and videos regardless of their source... you seem to have similar IQ with the person who removed that dedicated camera album throwing everyone into media chaos, for the sake of "innovation". god bless android
thank you for your video.. sidenote, you are gorgeous... ok back to my question. what if i have a PC but want to do the whole folder thing on my large monitor rather than on my phone, is there a way through icloud/itunes i can access my camera roll and create folders(so that it all remains synced)? please say yes lol, thank again!
Im so speechless on how iphone has like 10 years behind of features on photos app. Cant even move photos from one album to another without reselecting them again to be deleted from the old album. It is like a human torture to organize in iphone. Gosh. This is a $1500 phone and it is really bad on this. My samsung phone has a very easy way to organize stuffs but this phone?? Goshhh
Another great idea would of decluttering the camera roll would be abandoning the photos app and moving them in your files app where every picture will have a definitive place and don’t just stay in your camera roll. It’s just a shame you can’t move your photos from your camera roll in a folder so they don’t show there anymore it would make life much easier. That’s one of the few things I like more on android.
Thanks for the video. Apparently Google Photos DOESN"T recognize albums, so if I organize photos into albums it doesn't do me any good for getting them off my phone to Google photos. 1:54
Can you locate photos/videos based off of size of file? For example, how many mb or gab it takes up? I recorded some 4K videos and it filled my phone. I want to delete them but not sure which they were
