This is a recent lawn renovation on a slope. You will see how much easier it is to move some machines across the slope instead of up and down. As a result, the customer has a renovation that doesn't look too unsightly and will recover in the next 6 weeks or less.
During the video, I carry out scarifying, aerating, overseeding and topdressing on the grass.
The customer really does love a nice Green lawn, so he will be watering according to instructions and looking forward to seeing how it looks this season!

Really enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for sharing. Just a quick question, if you aerated first and scarified second wouldn’t the scarifier chop up the cores and come up with the thatch? Only have to pick up once then.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 года назад
Hi yes it would and it's definitely a good idea. My concern really is by doing that we inadvertently filling up the aeration holes with dust or debris from the scarify.. this is fine if not seeding but if seeding we may lose the depth of hole for the seed. I've really not tested the theory but its just what I think may happen 😁

Great job I used my camon today My slope is v bad Involves a pull and push technique with my son !
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 года назад
Hi thanks! Did you go across the slope or up and down? A drum aerator that drives itself along might be a better choice for slopes..but here I went round the edges so I had turning room ?once I get to each end going across), then across the slope. It actually states somewhere in the instructions about slopes steeper than 10% should be done across. 😥
@fuzzy1237
@fuzzy1237 2 года назад
@@LawnRight it’s a corner slope, so that part has to be pushed/ pulled The rest of garden is easier The tines can be adjusted Might make it easier But it gives less holes

Hi Shaun, excellent video again...what is the spreader you used for the top dressing today, can't find the link for it, thx
@LawnRight

Hi it's the bannerman mini topper they're not cheap but work well. The landzie compost spreaders are much more agile but this one let's me adjust the rate of how much comes out

Hi Shaun another good job👍 can Emerald Green be used as a general lawn fertiliser? Let's know when it's available 👍
@LawnRight

Hi! It's more of a tonic than a fertiliser. It's all in with the designer now.. so once I've got the label design sorted I'll be ordering bottles for production thanks

@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 года назад
I don't. Maybe that wrong... in fa t yes it is wrong, but I've always done it by eye. For good coverage I try to get it where most are maybe half a cm to one cm apart

Hi Mark I never ever measure or weigh.. although I'd have to say maybe 1 to 1.5kg and I'm thinking in terms of a litre jug (1kg)

Where do you get gypsum from please
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 года назад
Hi you can get agricultural gypsum from many places. Theres a few on amazon like this one.. amzn.to/3F9cpux Ultimately you'd be digging it in but many people wont want to do that, so it would be a case of aerating the lawn and sprinkling a bit in and repeating once or twice a year alongside compost and topsoil and humic acid to slowly change and improve the conditions
@GW._.

Hi.. I hope to be selling it in the next few weeks.. it's not needed by any means you can simply water well for food seed germination otherwise thanks

Hi Shaun this is probably a daft question but what is gypsum? Another great video.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 года назад
Hi Lynne..not daft at all.. it's a product that helps to break up clay (flocculate) so a small bit each time will slowly work on soil improvement 😊👍

Hi mate, great vid. The 3 lawns i have done from your previous lawn reno are looking great by the way! Can i ask about that canon la25. What size spikes/hollow core did you end up getting as i want to order one but wasn’t sure about which size to get? Thanks pal
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 года назад
Hi Chris! Good question! I wasnt even aware there was an option to choose sizes.. I just ordered the machine and iit came with a set of both hollow tines and solid tine spikes which are easily changed with some spanners.I have a feeling the sizes can't be changed as longer one should have issues entering and exiting the ground.. the machine is setup so the tines entr and exit just about right.. if that makes sense?

I treated my lawn with a 4 in 1 fertilizer / weed killer / moss killer around 6 weeks ago. The grass growth rate is currently still very high. I am planning to renovate the lawn with scarification, aeration, overseeding and top dressing in the next few weeks as there are many bare patches, caused by dog urine and dogs running around when the ground was soft. I'm concerned that the existing grass growth rate is going to continue meaning my lawn will be several inches high before the new seed has germinated. At what point can I start to cut the lawn again? I feel even if I cut the lawn as short as I can, it will be back desperately needing cut again within about 10 days. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 года назад
Hi.. yes you have a point however the 4 in 1 should be starting to lose some momentum after 6 weeks.. hopefully. Maybe leave it another week or so then go for it. If you need to cut it you'll just have to cut it carefully watching where you turn the mower but hopefully you can avoid getting on the lawn for maybe 3 weeks

@@LawnRight Many thanks for your reply. Your videos have pointed me in the right direction with regards to how to properly renovate a lawn. Many of my previous attempts have been with "patch magic" type products that have had very limited success and overseeding being eaten by birds due to not top dressing. Just purchased a landzie spreader to top dress. I have a Bosch lawn scarifier but clearly have not used it anywhere near enough times over the years. I'm planning on doing it right from now on.
