As for the American Captain. No one really knew what became of him. Some say, he died of his wounds. Others say he returned to America. I like to think...that he finally found a small measure of peace, that few of us ever find.
It Was not an American captain in fact but a french one called Jules Brunet. He came back to France 🇫🇷 with Honour. fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jules_Brunet
Uma das obras primas do cinema, não apenas por suas profundas crìticas ao capitalismo selvagem, como tambem, e ainda mais importante, nos ensina a valorizar e a respeitar as tradições dos povos originários... Muito agradecido por compartilhar..
“Tell me how he died?” “I will not, but rather I will tell you how he lived.” Amazing lines at the end. The whole movie portrayed the samurai way of life so beautifully
this is the last movie I saw three times at the cinema...... hoping something comes soon that will allow for that again, but most are now just woke trivial mindless garbage.
I'm a Japanese man. I can feel the Japanese soul in this music. I was surprised when I learned that Hans Zimmer composed this music. He thought it was composed by a Japanese person. I listen to it when I go to worship at a nearby shrine. It's soothing. thank you. In Japan, there is an event called ``Fighting Mikoshi''. I have uploaded the video to RU-vid, so I would be happy if you could watch it.
They don't practice this kind of acting anymore when filming.. without feelings or emotion it's a shame you can really dive deep in this movie and lost in the acting it's amazing, definitely underrated
I watched on the theatre as well. Age also close, I was 16. It was a night time. I walked thru all the way back to my home whilst the influence of the ending
If only people had good feelings and emotions and care for other like christ did , this world wouldn't be in a mess it is , many people struggling financially and spirituality bankrupted everywhere you go it's fill with drama, conflicts, arguments and no ending pain stress that is responsible for the mess we are in our culture even priest from the church knows am just glad there is real spiritual people outthere only care about your personality the most than how much money and etc.youve got which is wordly mindsets divided from god
"What does it mean to be Samurai, to devote yourself utterly to a set of moral principles, to seek a stillness of your mind, and to master the way of the sword."
"They are an intriguing people. From the moment they wake they devote themselves to the perfection of whatever they pursue. I have never seem such discipline. I am surprised to learn that the word Samurai means, 'to serve', and that Katsumoto believes his rebellion to be in the service of the Emperor." I love The Last Samurai, it's one of those movies I always come back to. It's beautifully shot, it has some of the best quote's I've heard and the music is just beautiful.
After all these years, it’s only today I realized the music was composed by Hans Zimmer. Background score is the soul of this epic movie, complementing every emotion every moment scene by scene
I love everything about this film. Great on so many different levels! This is the film that proved to me what a great actor Tom Cruise is. A must see!!
How is it possible a person dying in eminence pain says perfect they are all perfect as his last words . This is the greatest possible positive thought one can make in his mind.
You have to search in Islamic history . All of our ancestors face death with great and unbelievable courage . Their last words were always amazing such as there is only one god and Mohammed is his prophet . Others said " i won ndeed "
I think you find it in most cultures where someone takes the time and gives the effort to truly see and experience the world around them. All religions have their good points and all have their bad points. Buddhism predates most of them and is very much a faith of the natural world. The film shows this extremely well.
I really dont understand why you guys always drag in your islamic religion in each and every matter which comes up to you and in maximum times even when you guys are not even envited you will pook your noes. Did i or anybody asked you about your profet or whoever he is ? The answer is a clear NO. You know this nature of you guys clearly shows how insecure islam religion is , which always needs to be advertised for its existence.
@@hysammohammed4391 "They are all perfect" expresses blessing, valuing and embracing ALL of creation. Your quotes are the exact opposite because they express division and antagonism to what's different. Islam at its best reaches the hights and beauty we find in buddhism displayed in this movie - but unfortunately there's also a big part that's petty, ego-driven and diabolic (=dividing), as seen in your quotes.
I saw this film as a young karateka. I was so impressed that I decided to study the way of the Japanese sword. Every day I am inspired by the samurai ❤️
This music is beyond amazing,it drives me wherever I dream of places to go, it is an elevation of the spirit... it makes me feel fly, I am invincible ❤❤❤❤
Imo the best Tom cruise acting I’ve seen him ever do this film touches deep in to your soul with passion honour and will forever leave its mark 🙏🏻 the music is so beautiful .
Just watched this again for like the 5th time this film is a absolute masterpiece. The way he describes the Japanese samurai and rest of the villagers was perfectly put. "They dedicate themselves to absolute perfection in whatever it is they do"
Anche quando non sarò fisicamente con te, lo sarò con la mente, con il cuore e con la preghiera. Il mio cuore è tuo. Se mi vedrai con altri uomini sarà dolo per lavoro. Se avrsi bisogno di me io ci sarò. Sempre❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Praise God. The great I AM. Conscious energy that permeates every thing in existence. Be greatful for the mere fact of creation, existing and being able to experience this miracle that is life. Life may present you with adversities. You can either look at them as challenges or opportunities of growth and wisdom. We learn the most in our worst times. All praise and glory be to God. God bless you all. May Allah grant you peace. "His" will be done. Don't fight it. All the best to all of you.
Just my personal interpretation. Tom Cruise's character was a warrior through and through. But I think what broke him (in the first "half" of his life) is the non existent recognition of the other side of warfare. What he saw and knew was the uglier side of warfare and that haunted him (explaining the shame and guilt and nightmares) throughout. His second half of his life showed him the duality of warfare. The fact that you should be fearless and afraid, that you should be willing to kill and be killed, to feel nonchalance and regret/guilt, that you should be stoic and also feel sadness for leaving your family. He was a "romantic" who just so happened to be born as a warrior.
I've been searching for some small measure of peace my whole life and have resigned myself to its discovery only after my demise. The cemetery seems to be the only peaceful place on earth.
Nathan would disagree with you @user-xo4om8qv6m A warrior, to understand the value of a sacrifice, must first learn the value of life - and live it. I am so sorry you feel like this, but may you one day start living the "life in every breath, life in every bloom of a flower" There's something deeper in all of this, being alive to feel the wind and the sun on your face.... sadly the modern world tries to take away our meaning and fill us with fake pleasure and enslaving "freedom" Thats why I love Christ! He gave you life, and as God incarnate took your sins uppon Himself so you could live in peace and free of sin, living the purpose the designed you for, living true pleasure in Him and all the life He provides. Only God can make us whole, because we were made to search for Him. I hope this may have helped somehow, in any way I hope for you the best... If you will, let God's peace fill you and make you as mighty as a samurai! All the best🫂
Another Hanz classic. Emotion and realisation connected through music, natural rhythmic beat music is a healer. The orchestrator the doctor. If In doubt, just listen, for as long as you can.
I remember this movie in the cinema. I was a kid, now long years later I come back here to remember this art and this is one of my favourite music also as others Zimmers songs
Ed Zwick convinced Tom by proclaiming what is more necessary today than honor, trust, compassion, respect… we all agree just too few to understand. History to repeat itself.
Ujio’s little nod says so much. I greatly admire a culture that doesn’t feel the need to endlessly spew out unintelligent, trivial, meaningless claptrap. Tom Cruise is a complicated guy but I loved him (and Ken Watanabe) in this film
Bro took 3 musketballs to the chest and kept riding... Meanwhile the levy was so terrified to die by the sword they ran before the line was even broken. THATS POWER
best combat scene in the movie is not the initial charge of the samurai in which the technologically superior troops were slain murderously by the braver and more disciplined samurai. it was the dueling draw. when Algren earns the respect of his brutal teacher. this... was victory.
