Very thanks! I've been watching the TV series and much as profound exalting. But not much explored to the fantasy lore. I mean much of the story revolved around dramas, politics, conflicts, daily life of the people and war in Westeros. Seeing so far the Unseen parts of the world. Makes you think there much more to be explored. I for once really want the magic part to be explored. Though much of the audience would never like that since they anticipated much more to climaxes and dramatic events like a classic opera setting. Very sad that the fantasy and magic are not really opted much as same in trilogy series of the Lord of the Rings. Though in the books the fantasy has more colors on it but here seems vivid and not explored much.
It would be a awesome spin off of the Bleeding Sea. Imagine if somebody gets ship wreak or lost near the sea and have to survive against cannibals, necromancers and blood rituals
I thought that would grab some attention, pretty cool eh, it's not official canon but it was made by a friend of GRRM, and is part of the press materials for the Unseen Westeros exhibit. :)
So your saying it is going to be revealed that Ulthos is just a big island, while unseen parts of Sothoryos are going to be revealed. And should we interpret that eastern border of Essos canon. For I thought both Sothoryos and Essos went on forever and ever, just like the lands of ever winter. For I am pretty sure that both Sothoryos and Everwinter loop around, like Sothoryos becomes the southern pole of the world then extends further into the opposite site of the planet and everwinter does the opposite, it become the northern pole then also goes down into the opposite side of the world, while essos stretches out for at least 70 procent of the length of the entire planet until an ocean separates it from the western side of Westeros, making Essos both west and east of Westeros.
OnePieceNation, We don’t know that Ulthos is an island or a continent. As per the artist who drew the official ASOIAF map: “George RR Martin was quite specific that these maps would be an interpretation of the current state of knowledge of the world rather than a faithful satellite imaging.” www.fantasticmaps.com/2013/03/official-world-map-of-a-song-of-ice-and-fire/
Thank you for this video I'm so excited to find out about how big sothoryos is and what potential civilization could possibly live there and also how far east essos goes
This only shows that the universe that GRRM created is so freaking huge that a single TV series can’t possibly do it justice. There’s more than enough stuff for movies, cartoons , etc.etc.
I feel like fading to black with a pause in commentary then fading in the pictures that you are going to talk about wouldn't leave me feeling rushed to keep up. I felt like I didn't have any time to process before the dramatic change in topic. Sometimes I can't tell that you changed topic. At 6:14 I can't tell if you are still talking about "The Golden Tooth" until you finish your sentence. You even pan the map over, compounding the effect of the sentence structure. The couple frames of black and a pause in commentary would help to "separate the paragraphs", if you know what I mean. I like the video though, you cover the context and backstory of the images so well.
After having a more of an indepth look at the map @1:35... The more I think of the Valyrian's as the romans? The entire western side of Essos looks like Western Europe (somewhat), meaning that Valryia I supposed to 'resemble' Italy. Conquering and the like... Westeros is definitely the British Isles. What the other isles and lands represent I cannot say (disregarding the obvious ones such as YiTi, Slaver's Bay, the Dothraki and the Jogos N'hai).
I am going, for sure and that lies exactly at your video. I think the German board of tourism is in your debt. Well my mother is from Germany and I am technically a citizen but there is no reason a sane person goes to Berlin in January........... That's just a fact.
Am I the only one upset that nothing is mentioned that oh I don’t know 🤷♂️ we see that ulthos is tiny, esoss has an end and much more of sothoryos... I think that’s bigger then harrenhal...
