Frostrósir 2007 LIVE recording from Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavik in December 2007. Performers: Eivor, Jóhann Friðgeir Valdimarsson & Patricia Bardon Arrangement: Karl O. Olgeirsson
I LOVE THIS VERSION OF "A SPACEMAN CAME TRAVELING ". I HAVE BEEN PLAYING AND LISTENING TO IT ALL DAY!! I ALSO LIKE CHRIS DE BURGH 'S VERSION. I FIRST HEARD THIS SONG N THE RADIO YEARS AGO AND I JUST FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!!
What a delight to discover this wonderful performance of the Irish Christmas song by Chris de Burgh - and with the beautiful Irish mezzo Patricia Bardon. Great to see and hear her in good voice; brings back memories of a wonderful Messiah in Cork some decades ago.
About the last time they said "la la la" i felt somtehing magical inside me!! Creds to the three singers and the fantastic kid choir and ofc the orchestra! truly amazing!
A spaceman came travelling on his ship from afar, 'Twas light years of time since his mission did start, And over a village he halted his craft, And it hung in the sky like a star, just like a star He followed a light and came down to a shed, Where a mother and child were lying there on a bed, A bright light of silver shone round his head, And he had the face of an angel, and they were afraid Then the stranger spoke, he said "Do not fear, I come from a planet a long way from here, And I bring a message for mankind to hear," And suddenly the sweetest music filled the air And it went La La... Peace and goodwill to all men, and love for the child This lovely music went trembling through the ground, And many were wakened by hearing that sound, And travellers on the road, the village they found, By the light of that ship in the sky, which shone all round And just before the dawn at the paling of the sky, The stranger returned and said "Now I must fly, When two thousand years of your time has gone by, This song will begin once again, to a baby's cry"
I own the DVD. This was a concert released on DVD. There is the question should I try to upload it to RU-vid? Then I need to rip the DVD, edit the video and upload it.
i like gregorian and celtic woman versions better ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TEi7-NwVe7Q.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kXSyqK9ERRs.html
This one is the very first song that I played to on my new saxophone, today! It's such a great christmas song. *Chris De Burgh - A Spaceman Came Travelling* It's very melodic and easy to learn.
A spaceman streets of London... No food and no drink... Streets of 宇宙... Back to the Space... Or live in earth... 拯救末日的飛船 沒家的地球 沒吃喝的母親 Spaceman Where is my home...
Has no one even noticed that tis is a song about a spaceman travelling to earth 2000 years ago and it's being sung in a church Whitchurch believe that Jesus came here 2000 years ago! I think maybe everyone missed that!!!,
When this came out 48 years ago nobody had heard of Chris De Burgh. Not many more know about this track either, they think of Lady in Red which to me was his worst ever effort and killed his following. This was so different to what was around at the time and the mainstream basically ignored it for Slade or Wizzard. Both great records at the time but in original form has stood the test of time.
Morden101 I despair of people who think music like this "crap". May I tell you what is crap? Listening to "Baby baby baby ohh". I am tired of people saying that is good music. If you think so, by all means listen to it, but don't complain when someone wants to show something different. (Morden this paragraph is meant for epic fails, not you. :) )
There are 2 types of assholes on every video that has a few likes. 1 ) The Troll. They make it a point to say rotten things especially to piss people off and get comments. They don't get any attention in life. Typically pretty smart. Usually a guy and in serious need of a girlfriend before he blows up something. :( 2) Just the typical kid who is pretty much like the troll as far as not having any kind of healthy social life. Hide behind a computer and rant on. If people ignore them then they will move on to another post. They are ALWAYS so predictable. lol. ALWAYS!!!!! :P
This upload of the song is broken. Those "ticks" in the chorus ruin it. Here is a better version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4Mov2cQlcus.html
I like this arrangement by Karl O Olgeirsson but listen to this one as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qX4pp8ifXjU.html by Páll Óskar (Paul Oscar)
That's ridiculous, that's like hearing one performance of a pop singer, and then use it to go on to say all pop singers are overrated. The Tenor part in this , is extremely difficult and he manages it well. I wonder if you you'd think Mario Lanza and Pavarotti are overrated.
