Fun fact: the "I was restless" scene is even more risque in Japan. The "I was restless" option in Japan translates more to "I was nightcrawling." The meaning of this is that Byleth *cough cough* sorry, EdelSimp, pretty much blatantly asked to sleep with Edie.

I never really minded the fact that CF didn't have a battle against TWSID, but maybe it's because I played SS and VW back to back on my first run so by the time I got to CF I had no desire to fight them again. EIther way this was fantastic lmao

Oooooooohhh There where so many times I was laughing along to this video, basically going "TRUE!" to a bunch of the jokes that happened. The timing on the jokes is incredibly well done, alongside the editing as well: These 10 minutes where incredibly packed with content. Basically what I'm trying to say is that this video is very funny and makes me want to actually finish Crimson flower instead of just watching the cutscenes online lol. Very good indeed

See, I just hope that 3 Hopes fleshes out Edelgard and her relationships with everyone more because you’d expect Crimson Flower to be on the same or a higher level than Azure Moon and Verdant Wind, and that it would definitely be above Silver Snow. But no, they got so lazy with what had to be a route with the most potential, and it’s like why was Edelgard’s route even an option? The support is great and she has a lot of good character moments, but I mean there’s no reunion cutscene for her route like there is for Dimitri and Claude, there’s one for Silver Snow though which makes absolutely no sense. And there’s of course the injustice that Crimson Flower is shorter than all the other routes! Silver Snow, which is basically just a companion route to Crimson Flower, is somehow longer than it, and Dimitri and Claude had their own fleshed out routes as opposed to El getting her route cut down. I love the game and a lot of its aspects, but they did Edelgard so dirty.
I agree. They absolutely did Edelgard dirty. VW, SS & AZ all have lots of overlap in their routes, whereas CF has 6 unique chapters which are very distinct. I can see why lots of people hate Edelgard because the game doesn't spend the necessary time to explain her reasoning and her route was unfinished.
@@pickyphysicsstudent201 Yeah, and the hate centered on her is really almost hypocritical. People think she’s the worst character because she overthrows the church, but Dimitri spends the first several chapters of Azure Moon just bloodthirsty and killing as he pleases, but people will excuse his actions because of his trauma. Why are people so quick to gloss over Edelgard’s trauma? Losing her mother, being kidnapped by her uncle, being forced away from Dimitri and then watched all her blood siblings die horrible deaths while her body was torn apart and put back together again. Girl endured a lot as a child and that continued into her adulthood because she was forced to shed her innocence real quick.

She even thinks Nemesis is actually a good guy and not a genocidal bandit. She launches a continent wide war that kills tens of thousands of people based on what previous emperors said and the information given to her by TWSTD. Like I said, she's either an idiot or malicious for not questioning their version of history. Sure, Rhea is partly to blame for obscuring the true history and upholding the crest system, but she has good reason to. She convinced the people that the crests and relics are a gift from the goddess to prevent them fighting with each other over them and trying to conduct experiments like TWSTD has been doing. Then there's the fact that she works with TWSTD. Again, either an idiot or malicious. You don't need a genius IQ to realise that maybe the blatantly evil mole people with advanced technology and magic who tortured you and your siblings are a bigger threat than the Church that has kept the peace for a thousand years and protected the continent from outside invasion. Yes, I know she didn't want to work with them and Hubert convinced her, but that also doesn't reflect well on her. She knows they're evil enough to not want to work with them, but she believes what they tell her and doesn't wonder maybe having the same goal as them is a red flag. Then there's the fact that Hubert convincing her shows she's willing to abandon moral principle to win if encouraged to do so. And she's a hypocrite. She hates the church, nobility and crests for the inequality they bring, but she's happy to be an absolute monarch and let's the nobles loyal to her stay in power. And how are crests even so different from other genetic trains such as height or intelligence? She says she wants a meritocracy where people earn their way, but crests don't prevent that, they're just another inheritable trait that gives someone a natural advantage.
I also got my piss yellow title screen by doing an EdelSimp run. It’s not that I wanted to challenge myself by clearing the game with only 1-2 characters. It’s just that I’m bad at managing my units’ xp.

I did a challenge run a while back where I made a rule that I could only class all of my units into the armored knight classes, wasn’t allowed to use anything else. It was brutal.
I tried to do a Speedelgard build but ... hmm ... safe to say that didn't end well xD Edelgard has a base speed of 8 My Edelgard is now level 9 and she has ... 10 speed 😅 Edit : She has 9 actually, since she is a Myrmidon
girl is trying to be an empress at the ripe old age of, like, twelve and a half. that "never let up, even for a moment" mentality is necessary for leaders. she also was cultivating the dream that Byleth would be able to stand with her, which couldn't happen (in her mind) if Byleth wasn't strong enough to pick up and carry on in the face of loss (as Edelgard herself had).
@@isleschild that’s another flaw of Edelgard’s character, her being so self absorbed that she can’t empathize with other peoples suffering. A flaw both Dimitri and Claude point out in their own respective routes, it’s just especially insulting when pissing on Byleth’s grief.
