The english version of this video seems shortened compared to The swedish one.

You should do that. I recommend a visit in late april or early may. Then everyting is starting to bloom in the woods. Hi from Stockholm.

Because you dont replace the thousand of plants and mushrooms varieties that were hosted in a100 years old forest and will dry out without it in the next 2 years after the shaving with replanting just 1 single variety of a tree.. you get a plantation, which is very close to a corn field if you look at the diversity of species it contains.. its very boring to have a walk in a corn field.

Old growth forests can also be quite deserted on the floor. Almost barren. Nothing grows where the sun can’t reach. Have you seen what happens in the second and third years after timber harvesting? Life diversity explodes! Even the large species - ungulates, bears, felines, etc. - find the sunny meadows and briar patches irresistible! Wild food sources become abundant! Harvesting takes on the role formerly played by wildfires, which we scarcely allow any more. I love the untouched countryside, too, but there are too many benefits to cultivated timber to write it off as destructive.

You don't. You are replanting a lot of treas for every one you take out. Also you don't clear-cut an area but leave some treas uncut sand replant so you get a variety of ages in one area
