Hi Terri .. that is awesome ... I love that your a "NEWBIE" have fun quilting and enjoy it ... to me there is nothing better ... so relaxing and fun thanks for watching my channel
I was a teacher for 20+ years and always taught my students "Practice Makes Permanent"... Perfect is difficult to attain for anyone. Love this pattern! Something I might actually be able to do 💙
You are my favorite quilter on RU-vid. Well you and Man Sewing with Rob Appell are tied. You have such an awesome personality and make quilting really approachable (especially for newer people to the hobby). Helped me to see it doesn’t need to be perfect as long as we are having fun. And that the quilt police can shove it.
After 2 very busy sewing days, I get to watch you work with my heating pad on my shoulders and back. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Thank you for your talent, inspiration and posting this video!
I would love to do more of them. LOL. Unfortunately I have a real job that gets in the way of my RU-vid career. One day I will be a full time RU-vidr. Thank you for watching and commenting. April
Just found a jelly roll in my stash today that is perfect for this pattern. Thank you for another great video. The are good for my quilting and even better for my peace of mind. They ar always so up lifting.
I’m going to be using this pattern, what an easy one. I notice we have the same horn chair. Love mine. Have a great day. Off to have chocolate for breakfast. 🇦🇺
Beautiful quilt 💓. And so easy. Ha ha, I'd have added some fabric back into the "mistake".... a few inches at one side, not very noticeable. But that's me. I love your colorful project.
April, this is a really cute, quick and easy quilt to make, I am so glad you used it in your video. I have the perfect jelly roll on hand, needless to say, it is next up on my agenda. Thanks for sharing.
Love this quick and easy quilt!!! Love the modern bright colors, so cheerful, and of course I really enjoy you and your tutorials!!!! Have a great day and eat some chocolate always puts a smile on my face!!!!
This almost looks like a twist on a jelly roll race. I love the colors of your jelly roll. As always April, you keep it fun and are a great quilting teacher. Happy Quilting 😁
Love, love, love the colors of this quilt. Also, your 1/4” seams are perfect! I watched while you cut the edge. Thanks. I have a few jelly rolls, but nothing so colorful. Thanks again for another easy and lovely quilt tutorial.
I love the look and simplicity of this pattern! I also like to use the white on white fabric like you did! I have seen it done pretty much the same way…but cutting the white instead of the colored strip. It is pretty, too. I think it’s called Sugared Almonds or something like that! I really enjoy your tutorials! Thank you, April!
Thank you for sharing this. I'm not a big fan of modern designs but this does appeal to me and I will try it. I love how you took your scissors and made random cuts, that's my style. I missed Oliver, I hope he's ok....
I would love if you could do some HOW to Quilt it - part 2s on these quick and easy designs. For those of us who are learning - a quick top is great and then we can learn how to FMQ and not be so dependent on the longarmer!
I liked this easy to make pattern I'm lazy at ironing to its plain and simple and yeah I'm a mistake mistake ugh so I eat chocolate and start again great look
You can do it! I love it ... do you make the mistake then eat chocolate? That might be the reason why ... I can see myself using that logic and then running out of chocolate to complete the project ... LOL thanks so much for watching! April
I have a jellyroll that has been languishing for several years. I didn't want to make another jellyroll race quilt with it. Those always get wonky on me and I am not fond of that long long strip. I think this is the answer. Too bad I used up a white jellyroll i had on numerous other projects. Guess I'll just have to buy another one. More fabric, darn! LOL
I just love your tutorials, you are so real. Very pretty quilt. Thank you! 😜 Do you like that green mat on your sewing machine, have seen them for sale online and wondered how they do?
YES >>> I LOVE LOVE LOVE the green mat on my machine===== sew steady grid glide ... it is removable / repositionable and it is the best thing EVER! game changer for sure!!! April
Oh you are a rebel !! Measuring board then cutting where you want to cut THEN waving sissors in the air like that oooh lala !!! LOL welcome to the dark side young jedi
Loved it! Watched 4 times, need to make it ! If you watch the last “table talk” from Pine Needles Utah, they had a great free quilt pattern, you could make
Just a suggestion for a shortcut. If you sewed two completed strips together at a time, chain piece them, then did twos together to make four and then two fours together to make eight you wouldn’t be having to drag the entire thing across your machine every single time. Does that make sense?
An instructor uses this to teach iron pressing. "The elephant foot must be picked up to take a step. If the elephant foot skates it may end in disaster". 😀
If I had to guess ... I would think that somehow the fabric stretched... when you press it ... make sure it is pressed and not ironed, because you can stretch the material that way and also when you are sewing it ... make sure not to stretch it when sewing it .. that fabic is so easy to stretch. Hope this helps... April
well... that is a tricky question... I am not sure what you are referring too... the sewing machine itself is sitting on a table that my father n law and husband made for me out of my grandmothers library table from the amana colonies in IOWA. The green grid that is under the machine where you sew is a SEW STEADY grid glider and it is amazing... you can find it in the description on the video if you need to find one. (They are awesome ) Hope this helps April
2 of my blocks were smaller than the others because I incorrectly arranged my 'puzzle' pieces. I think that is what you were referring to. LOL Thanks for watching. April
