I don’t really like pinwheels in quilts. But this one is awesome! The colors are bright and go together beautifully. I might actually try this quilt. It never occurred to me to make giant pinwheels. Thanks for the inspiration.
i love your videos your voice is calming and your instructions are nice and easy to follow. You make it so easy and i really appreciate that. Thanks so much for the great videos.Makes me feel like i can accomplish anything.
Very pretty! 💗 I'm a big fan of Tula Pinks' fabric lines. I have to hunt down some of them that are out of production. I guess I've kind of been binge watching your videos...I enjoy them! Thank you for sharing. 😊🍁🍃🍂🌻🍊
Years ago, my local quilt store sold coordinating fabrics in bundles of 5 one yard pieces. When you purchased one, you got to select a special “5 yard quilt” pattern. I loved making those. I think I will invest in some of the 3 yard patterns. You make them look fun and easy!
So glad you are making these quilts live. I love the books and patterns, but I do run into some problems. Watching you work helps me avoid additional mistakes. I make notes on my patterns after watching you. I enjoy listening to you as you talk yourself through the project. I do that all the time.
Thank you. It’s fun to put my boo boos at the end. LOL. That is awesome. I need to get mine sandwiches and quilted. So many projects. So little time. :-). Thank you for watching.
I've also used the half square triangle ruler to mark the diagonal line. I mark the center line and I also draw a line on either side following the side of the ruler. Then I just sew on those lines for a perfect 1/4 inch.
I haven't done it that way - thank you for sharing that. Some people might already have the half square triangle ruler in their stash. :-). Thank you for watching. April
I have this book but have not yet made this quilt. I love the colors you chose for this quilt. And I was hoping your cat would have jumped up to help you! Ha!
Oliver was being rather illusive for this video. It's nice outside so he wants to play outside instead of inside. :-). I will let him know he was missed. :-) April
I do quilt them myself. I have done some videos on the process. You can find one of those here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qEvAsPveLdU.html and here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bA0yd0ds_DY.html. These are older and I do plan on making some soon with my better sound. :-). Thanks for watching. April
Hello April! Firstly, I love your name...lol. my bday is 4.30 and when I was a little girl I so desperately wanted the name April! I enjoy your videos and appreciate the time/effort you put into them. This may sound odd, but, I subscribed to your channel primarily due to your style and color choices being so different than mine. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and expands my horizons re: creativity. So thank you for that! I love Donna Robertson and 3-yard quilts-hv 2 of her books and bought some kits off her site. I enjoyed the road show...that was great fun!!! Take care and stay safe and be well. Janelle
Thank you Janelle you are so kind. Isn't it funny how you always want to be named something different. LOL. I am glad that you are getting out of your comfort zone - it is hard but it always feels good to expand your horizons. I never really liked orange, but I have been using it more and it really isn't that bad. :-). Again thank you for your kind comments and you stay safe and be well, too. :-) April
I JUST BOUGHT That book on s aturday it was the only one in store love watching you sew what machine do you use? Havve you watch donna jordon vieos love hers to
Her books are great - you're going to love it! Thank you - I have a Brother that I piece on and I sew my rows and borders on my Janome Continental M7. I piece on the Brother because it is convenient to my work table, but doesn't have a lot of work space. My husband customized a table so my Janome sits down in the table and it is great for larger projects. And I love Donna Jordan - she makes some beautiful quilts. Thank you for watching. :-) April
Hi April ..pinwheels always look so easy, when you say nest..are you meaning the one side fabric is going one way & the other the opposite? Mine are always so bulky I just can't seem to get it. I'm wondering if this is my problem?! Love your videos🤗
Pinwheels are always a big bulky, but are less bulky if nest the seams. And you are correct - the fabric is going one way on one side of the seam and the other way on the other side of the seam. Thank you for watching. April
@@aprilscraftroom thank you so much, I finally get it!! My goodness I definitely wasn't doing that, it makes so much sense now. I'm very thankful I found your channel & appreciate your videos🤗
Here is my affiliate link: amzn.to/3t2VeUL. If you prefer not to use the affiliate link, look for Quilters Rule Quick Quarter 2. I actually bought mine at my LQS while we were working on half square triangle mystery blocks, but Amazon has them, too. Thank you for watching. :-) April
Super Cute quilt. Is that little ruler the one that you can mark your sewing lines each side of center if you line up the groove on the center? I have one, similar, looking for a different one.
Hi Lannette ... Thank you for the input ... I do appreciate it! I have put it on my list of TO DO .. and better lighting is coming soon! Thank you for watching my video! April
@@aprilscraftroom I truly do not intend this to be argumentative but what about the many many tutorials that I have watched and this is the first time I’ve heard of the issue that you’re presenting. It’s unfortunate.
I agree it is but it isn’t fair to Donna Robertson who developed this pattern and published it in a book to give the measurements. I am sorry my video doesn’t appeal to you and I have no problem with you expressing your opinion. I absolutely love giving my opinion. LOL April
