When Amira was very young she sang for Veterans in The Netherlands who had liberated the area who were visiting. More recently she sang When You wish upon A Star as her contribution to an online concert also for veterans. Her CDs have been donated to veteran homes also

Whatever she sings, she nails it, and puts a distinctive Amira stamp on it, often at the end. She tends to concentrate on opera, religious, and theater songs. She isn’t that good of a singer and seems like she doesn’t even understand the words she is singing let alone all the history of this song. Maybe someone her age with little life experience isn’t the best fit for this song. The orchestra sounded wonderful. Edit: her voice is actually incredibly grating to my ears.
Not every singer will appeal to everyone.. Though this video has 29 million views on her channel so it is beloved by many. Regarding Amira not understanding the meaning of the song, she has always had a strong Christian faith, and since very young has repeatedly said that her voice is a gift from God with which to do good with. She regularly sings in church's and homes for the elderly. At aged 10 she used her first earnings to set up a foundation Gelukskinders to build playgrounds for children in the townships and built her first playground, public playground and mainly in schools since, near where she now lives in South Africa and to date, aged 19, her foundation to which she donates a lot of her earnings and is strongly supported by her fans, has built and maintained 21 playgrounds and is currently providing netball equipment and uniforms to secondary schools there and next year will fund the cost of a netball tournament for those schools.
Hi, I am an 83 old lady in Orrtofua South Sfruca and first saw her at ours, on André Rieu's stage in Maastricht Holland, ( on video. 😂) amazing. I was checking out ghd comments to comment but shooter 5884 has nfntioned her Gelukskinders playing parks Foundation. She is giving back tenfold?? (My interpretagion,) bless her.
