As the ED doc when I call our GI doctor I tell him, "I know you're not coming in to scope this patient I just need to hear you say it so I can document it for the hospitalist."

Then why do we bow down to medico legal practice when we all know the truth anyway.

I like how I'm just a 15 year old watching shorts on GI bleeding, not understanding it at all, but still laughing

Hey, same here. A I understand a little of this stuff and watching these shorts randomly has helped. Its all really cool and with a lot of stuff the struggle is real as it goes for any profession. One of his shorts recently was giving people the benefit of the doubt.

Welllllll, i wouldnt wanna pay for a scope just to find out my hematochezias just a friggin hemorrhoid that resolved itself. So im fine with that. Melena, please schedule me for a scope. Ill take less nsaids. Neither are reasons for emergency scope. Its not like there were additional signs of bloodloss. Youre not going to usually have an emergent bleeding ulcer but thats why hes asking for hgb, for bleeding.

All jokes aside I have GI issues and I’m only 23 and I’m pretty close to ending it all because they can’t figure out what’s wrong. Multiple specialists. Drs. Surgery after surgery. My body clearly doesn’t want to live why should I keep living in this pain. Hopefully one day GI issues are more easily resolved because I would wish GI pain on my worst enemy. Maybe just politicians.
