I bought some noise canceling head phones for those nights when the world is to loud. We live outside of 2 military bases and the police copters are out quite a bit. The neighbors like to party. I put my headphones on and of to seep I go. I love your channel

Oh Gayle I hear you with the eyes, mine are deteriorating now and I noticed the same thing with trying to thread the machine needle something I could do so easily once! Love A Tattered Dream, her shop is full of amazing stuff. The postage puts people off internationally but Denise is marvelous at correcting and refunding overs by Etsy.

Well, I visited Denise, and now, if I win the lottery or my ship comes in, I can hit buy for all the items I put in my cart!!!!! : ) I sort of went crazy over there, loved everything she was selling!!!!! And, as a matter of fact, I might have just put everything she had in my cart!! LOL!!! No, not really, but, just about it seems like!!!! Great shop!!! Gayle, love ya, precious girl!!!

Oh Gayle, I’m nearly ready to start my first journal. I’ve been watching your videos like crazy and gathering items, writing down the names of all the Etsy shops you mention and I’ve downloaded some beautiful digital but the best thing is you can get some fantastic items at the local Op Shops ( in Australia we shorten the name of everything🙄🤣, it’s short for Opportunity Shop or you may call them Charity shops). Anyway I bought some classic Little Golden Books that looked brand new for 30 cents each. I also bought some gorgeous doilies with lovely embroidery in perfect condition and a whole packet of Kodak photo paper for my printer for $1.00. I’ve decided gathering the items might be half the fun and since I’m on a disability pension it looks like this will be a hobby I can still enjoy on a limited income.🥳

Lovely! :) tyfs! I hear you, on the noisy neighbor thing! My eldest (mostly) doesn't understand why I hate it! I haven't slept good , until completely exhausted from not sleeping, in idk how many years?! It seems to be getting worse with age too? Cabin in the woods , with no neighbors close, is at the top of the list. :(

What a perfect little journal for your trip! I always try to take post-it-notes, paper clips, and washi on a trip, and miss it if I don't! I was recently on a short trip, and traveled light. Wouldn't you know, I picked up a magazine at the GA welcome station, and *needed* my tape, post-its, etc! Be prepared and take the stuff! Yes! Love Denise's shop! What is the glue with super pointed top???

So, when you receive products as a member of a team, do you get guidelines on how to use them? I.e, boho journal, urban ephemera? Or do you just feature the items in your work?

I saw tons I loved in Denise’s Etsy shop but the problem is that when you buy anything with a value of over 14 GBP (I don’t know the current exchange rate but let’s say less than 20 USD of stuff), you get hit with a Customs fee, plus a Royal Mail fee for handling the Customs fee (I kid you not!); and that plus the UK shipping fee just makes shopping for this kind of thing from the US prohibitive. Customs can be really mean and frequently even apply fees to items marked as gifts, and sometimes they even include the shipping amount plus the items’ value when calculating their fee (which is just plain wrong but complaining and getting a refund is akin to milking blood from a stone - you’d have more luck with the latter!) All that to say that unless it’s something super duper special that we’re willing and able to also swallow the bitter fees pill for, we have to stick with buying this kind of itty bitty fun stuff and supplies from this side of the pond - assuming we can find them here - which we often can’t. 😣😔

Can you explain what you do on a design team? Are you paid to design products, critique products or use them in your videos or is it more of a collaboration? I can certainly see why you were chosen. Your videos have been this summer’s highlight for me!
