Yes, it's got shades of that era. Also first one reminds me of things Mark Bell's Speed Jack project (tracks like Storm) and maybe a bit of Joey Beltram's hard driven roland drum machine sound in the mid 90s. The second one reminds me of Luke Slater's 7th Plain alias (Astra-Naut-E, and Reality of Space being some of my favourites).
Mind & ear & eye blowing! Thank you for showing the TR8 part - I was always curious how you make your drums and this explains it very well. Nice trick with the accent driving the overdrive, will steal that 🙂
Yeah! This is pure fun! Been meaning to thank you for the endless inspiration. Been soldering up practice kits for the last month and a half. One spool of rosin core later and I think I’m finally ready to build this Turing machine that taunts me from the bench. An empty case beckons and the possibilities are intoxicating! Now carry on as you were M8! Huge thanks and much respect. 🫡
Maybe upscale the video to 4k before you upload it? The RU-vid compression algorithms (both audio and video) handle differently with 4k and give better quality. The quality should still be better even in the lower resolutions.
That makes me re-think trading the Quadrantid swarm for the Akemie's castle... I want both but no room (and money but we don't talk about that here)...
Secretly best drum machine aye? I see a ton of folks using it in their live kits, so perhaps you're onto something. Can you elaborate? Maybe a vid on your perspective?? Love the jams and props for featuring the QS
Nice Simple setup. But it also requieres quite a lot of mastery since the tr8 needs some years of practice to be played this way and the swarm is a beast but it's impredictible and hard to match the volume. Would you favour the ghost against the mimeophon? I'm thinking about exchanging those...
