Very nice review! Subbed! I ended up going with the black version with their silent switches and themed keycaps. I ordered it some time ago and it's due to arrive this week. I'm very excited to see how it'll feel in person! I heard some people talking down on the silent switches they offer here, but for only 25$ and to have them delivered at the same time as the board makes them worth the try.
Mine shipped today should be here Monday, I got the same switches but from your review may moved them to something else to take advantage of the RGB if I like as I have boards without lights. For the price of and extra $15 they were definitely worth a try! I really liked the sound with PC plate but difficult to judge mics vs in person. Excellent and very thorough review, thank you!
Yea honestly it’s hard to judge by mics but I can definitely tell you this board sounds better in person, there’s more depth to it. You’ll see when it arrives. Hope you enjoy! And thank you!
Curious to see how you mod this board. I got me and my wife a matching set and really loving it. For the price its amazing out of the box and comes with some really nice styles. We both got the Airy Lilac but mine with the black keycaps instead. We don't mid the RGB so the switches were a good deal and we don't really have any issues with the double-key registering others are experiencing. Very easy board to modify so I look forward to seeing if you make a video modding it in the future.
Thanks for the video. I am looking for a new 75-80% aluminum keyboard and the Gem 80 is on my short list. i just ordered the EPOMAKER x Feker Galaxy80 and should get it in a couple of days. lt’ has what looks to be an almost identically shaped case with with the rounded bottom but it’s an 100% aluminum case and much less than 1/2 the price. If i don’t like the Galaxy80 i’ll probably try the Gem 80.
Yeah, mine won't charge out of the box, and frequently double-types keys. Already did one firmware flash, and it didn't help. Not sure what to do, probably gonna have to return this. Too bad, I liked the sound OOTB, and the lighting is fairly nice. (bttw, this double-strokedd like shown in this section of text inside the parentheses, it's rather annoying and a big reason why.. does this even on wired.)
