Did you know: Ducati and Triumph deliver their motorcycles in nice 1" square tube steel crates. Most dealerships pay scrapyards to take them away in rolloffs. If you are nice to them they will let you raid their rolloff. You could build a sim stand for basically free.

I'm so glad you're one of the people keeping the LFS drift scene alive, I haven't gotten to play it in so long, and I miss it a ton. Might have to redownload and hop in. May even get myself an s2 license.

I used to play LFS during my teen years tandoming all afternoon online. In the first weeks after getting my licence it was pissing down rain and i decided to mash the throttle coming into a roundabout to make a gap. The car stepped out almost to full lock and it took a few fishtails to get her pointed straight. It was an accident but my experience in live for speed transfered to real life naturally and I didnt bin it which I think I might have otherwise. I have never got assetto feeling like LFS feels out of the box. Glad to see people still play :D

Just started sim racing in December ( got a g920 for Christmas) and I've been loving racing and drifting on assetto and fm7. Really enjoying it, but I'm excited to get a belt driven wheel in a few years when I save up enough money. Really appreciate the vids and showing us all your setup. Thanks for keeping me entertained.

(Btw you should try it) There is a TON of sim videos on RU-vid, but yours are different. Most of those guys have never seen a real car. Your advice on how it compares to your real car is crucial!

I feel like you haven't tried enough mods for assetto, I have found some that really didn't feel good compared to others. You will find the right mod.

Taylor you should try world drift tour cars in assetto corsa. I think they are closer to real life than tando buddies.

I wonder if anyone had made a serious motorcycle sim yet you could probably do something similar to how the old arcades had it set up where you could just hop on the bike but with a VR headset.

Logitech g25/27/29 great starter wheel for anyone who wants to get into sim racing/drifting. Shifter wise I would highly recommend a Thrustmaster TH8A, that in my opinion is the best shifter I've owned so far.

Great video Taylor! As far as the dirt track racing that seemed pretty realistic to me, most of the time sprint cars inside front wheel comes off the ground while pulling through the corners. I love watching dirt track way more than asphalt oval because of that!

Live for speed for days! Been playing for 15 years or so now, such a good game! You can also download car tweaker tool to create your own engine characteristic (LS for example) and wheel/chassis setups. Love it!

Thanks for shouting out LFS. Been playing since X patch and still use my G25 to this day. Definitely agree with it having the most realistic physics, even compared to AC now. Only reason why I stopped is the same as you: lack of players :(

You shouldn’t keep your oculus like that if you do a session that causes you to sweat. It’s super super common for sweat to buildup on the inside (where you eyes are) because the foam absorbs it and the condensation builds. When you leave it on the table like that it makes the sweat go into the circuits and it claps out the oculus. Always leave it flat. Nice video though! Loved watching it!

I've played LFS since 2004, for me nothing has beating it. I want a new sim rig setup, but also want car parts..lol Awesome video dude!

With sprint cars you have to steer with the throttle but you have to tap the breaks and feather the gas while keeping consistent angle in the corner

take some front camber out on some of the mod cars! they all run 4.5-5 or more and make it feel very snappy and understeery. i personally keep it between 3.4-3.7 and it makes the steering feel much more natural with more front end control. also i took your experience into account with softer spring rates in the rear and it 100% helps with the feeling of the cars in assetto. much more forward grip along with lateral if you completely loosen the sway bars. Sadly though none of this will fix the crappy networking with cars skating around and popping in and out during tandems.. still play LFS from time to time just for that.

33:20 AC has tyre temperature and wear simulation, a lot of the times server owners turn off tyre wear, but temperature simulation is always there

Most of the older Miata seats have speakers(or the empty space) in the headrests. Might as well make use of them to assist with immersion! 💪 Easy to unzip the top of the seat to see.

Taylor you need some updated mods! Check out the DWG pack, and the Aussie Drift Co guys. They've got 300hp cars, Pro-Am cars and Comp cars, and are currently reworking the 300s with new improved data.

I saw a RU-vid user and he actually compare having triple monitors and VR. He is a real race car driver. He says it's actually better with VR because it's more real and if you get into real world racing in the future, having a VR is better to prepare yourself for racing than having 3 monitors.

This is creepy , I bought my first " sim gear " yesterday ( Logitech g920 ) and been playing F1 2018 all day, and then you upload a sim related video 😂 that's a pretty good timing 😏

I love lfs. i remember being in parties with 32 people just going back and forth on the track and turning around and waiting for every to line up then going at it for like 3 hours straight

i started off with a g27 when i was about 9 years old but it broke due to the one of the cords being tripped over i finally bought a g920 last year its been really nice too have again only complaint is dont like how the stock wheel has all the buttons just shoved on it i liked the g27 with its open wheel design im currently mocking up a seat from my car to use on it. its a great wheel overall

Try the DWG pack for Assetto, the cars in that pack actually feel like real cars, and the tires are actually decent and feel like real tires. One of my fav car packs so far.

I’m with you, I get so busy I forgot about sim racing. But honestly every time I go back I get bored within 30 minutes and feel like I’m forcing myself to play. I sold my stuff about a month ago and man it feels great. I didn’t play it much to begin with. I may go get a real cheap set again for just “those times” but honestly if you have access to any real car to do performance driving in or racing I wouldn’t invest a few grand in a setup.

Don't go triple monitors this day and age, go for "Samsung C49RG90 49 inch ultrawide" amazing for sim racing. (Edit:Unless on a budget triples are still cool)

Spriny cars are awesome there is no transmission. Just a drive shaft from the crand to the resr end with a lock ip kiy in the rear end they have to be push started. Go to a race one dau anf check it out vetu interesting to race them and how they are set up. Pedals move different

Thumbs up for Live for Speed! Best sim ever ) It kind of getting older these days, but I still like it the most in terms of how car handles and responds to setup changes... Never tried IRacing though.. I can't spend much time now driving it to justify the cost...

I've been considering going SIM. A friend has a nice set up by the same company you use. When you have good equipment it makes SIMs amazing and I can see how they make you better in real life. I have the same exact PC components you have so at least I know my PC will be good to go. Just gotta make the jump and get the peripherals. What do you think about a curved screen instead of triple monitors ?

Quick tip Taylor is that those cars aren't all that great. Try the WDT pack (World drift tour pack). Those cars are more realistic if you ask me. Also really happy you showed some attention to LFS though. Like no one i talk to evem knows what it is lol

As a motorcycle racer i have to say that i am straight up jealous that you guys can have digital racing that can even come close to the real thing... Find me a bike sim rig that can understand body positioning and i'll be right up on board.

For iRacing I should download an app called trading paints. It lets u use other people’s custom paints (they are generally very well detailed replicas of real car liveries or just random paints).

Hey, I have a Logitech g29 wheel setup and Samsung odyssey VR headset and I just downloaded live for speed but I cannot get the VR to work. Anyone have any setup tips? I drive in assetto corsa vr all the time no problem. But just 10 minutes of driving in live for speed on my monitor and it feels way more realistic so I’d love to use VR.

Oculus CV1 has a pretty narrow FOV, updating to something like Valve index would help, instead of going to 3 screen setup that takes alot of space. it has something like 130 degree FOV

If you want to go really crazy you can get a direct drive wheel. And a home motion rig.

I'm getting ever closer to building my rig. I've settled on getting a super ultrawide monitor, and using trackIR instead of VR for head movement. So I'll have the width of about 2 screens with no bevels, and the ability to turn my head slightly and see out the left or right of the car. Sort of the best of both worlds. Other than that, somewhere down the line I'm gonna get a motion rig. But I'm NOWHERE near having the money for that lol I can't even afford my gaming PC yet. A guy's gotta have a dream and a goal, though, right?

yo i am only at 30:43 in the vid so excuse me if you get into it later, but you should really mess with the settings. I could not imagine actually just hopping into the L2D mega tamdana server (or whatever mod cars) and not changing the alignment and suspension (plus tires but I try to stay with the other guys I am driving with so I dont run comp tires unless we all are). you can make the car have substantially more front grip and self steer by messing with the settings the way you would irl. I usually add toe in to everything and some cars I like to loosen up the rear spring rates.

Samsung is releasing a new 49in ultrawide this quarter called the odyssey G9 in addition to it being 1440p and supporting up to 240hz the curvature is extremely aggressive and is supposed to fill your preferable vision. I already use an older Samsung ultrawide but ill be picking this up as soon as it drops.

I dont regret buying my oculus rift or Logitech g920 set-up, would be nice if you got a new desk and a metal frame for your wheel set-up, easier and cleaner(visually) to maintain

100000% agree. With vr, most of the time i just use rhm in assetto corsa because the vr headset can be such a pain and will give you a headache after about 2 hours

very nice setup, i've almost the same, you should grease your pedals the shouldn't be squish noise, and you should try more detailed mod for AC some are good and some are excellent

Sick I built a sim to, used a 12v brake light switch to operate a handbrake lol 2 wires bingo

I found with AC it's all about setup, I'm more into the racing side of it, but I've recently started looking at setups more and a couple cars I run are like night and day with a good setup! Should give it another go and check online I'm sure there is guys that have good setups for drifting that they'll upload and share! Also check out ACC for racing, I went with that as I couldn't justify the cost of iRacing lol Keep it up dude! 😁

TIP: On dirt, turn your force feed back way down compared to what you run on asphalt, a few points above minimum FFB is a good space to start.

You should try the v8 Supercars on irace it is an Australian touring car series I think you would get a kick out of it. It is a very competitive series and you get to race with some of the the best Drivers 👍🏎🏎. Thanks you for all the information on your sim and how you have your sit up I have been thinking about buying a sim for a while now and that was great to see what you run 👍👍
