The heights is a popular neighborhood located about 5 miles northwest of downtown Houston. It's one of Houston's oldest neighborhoods and it's one of the first planned communities in Texas. There is a bit of historic charm around the area and a mix of shops and restaurants among victorian homes, craftsman homes, english cottage homes and modern developments like apartments and condos. There are tree lines streets in the area and it's somewhat of a walkable area as Houston goes, with access to bike paths. The area featured here is part of Greater Hights, along 19th street where you can find boutiques, antiques, records and the Houston Toy Museum. It's located about 1 mile east of the section of 19th street that people often visit as a nightlife destination. In the region featured here, you can find live music at Heights Theater. Ultimately I made it out to Fun Focus HTX where they had a super secret rooftop show featuring myself, Haiying and Be Bard. Good times.
