I work for Rivian and I can attest RJ is like this in person. Genuinely nice, smart and very involved. He takes the time to get to know new employees. He may randomly stop at your desk to chat about what you are working on.
Same here man , he will take his time to make sure he touches base with every department and positions from janitors to werehouses managers, he is such a nice guy
I just started working at Rivian today, and although I am not in the US but in Serbia, I am really impressed with the Rivian culture and mission. For the first time in my life, I am not here only to do my job - I really want to be a part of this journey and do everything I can to see it grow and succeed in it's mission. Keeping the world adventurous, forever.
R J Scaringe is an excellent example of the American Dream. To envision something and to make it a reality as he has done is not only miraculous, but inspirational.
Nicely done! Its so exciting to be a Rivian owner. This company has a very bright future. The trucks will get better with each passing month as the software team pushes out updates to bring new features and functions to the vehicles. As a 20 year GM employee, this is extremely impressive. I'm rooting for you guys. Can I recommend since GM has basically stopped passenger van production there are clients looking to fill their orders they can't get filled by us.
Watching this after the R2/R3 reveal and I can truely see that they had vision a year ago and still maintain that vision. I for one believe in them and their success will be great.
The mind-blowing part to me, is that unlike Elon, RJ actually is like this in person, at least according to my sister, who works in California for Rvian. Actually someone you want to talk to, and interact with!

To be fair, before all Tesla blew up the way it is now, Elon wasn't a bad dude, from what I was told. He would talk to people, interact with people and hold meetings to make things better. Then once Tesla became that household name he started doing the things you see today. (This is coming from my wife who had meetings with Elon on occasion)

Imagine what they can do when they get the new custom made factory in Georgia, instead of an old recycled Mitsubishi plant.. that being said, they’ve done a terrific job!
After watching this, and having worked my entire life for manufacturing companies, I have a deep sense that Rivian will be EXTREMELY successful! Manufacturing is complex. And these guys are conquering that complexity!
@@heatism you can still option an R1T with one, but hasn't been possible to get an S with a 400 mile pack. Best you can do to optimize range on it is to option the dual motor large pack, which has slightly improved range/kWh

Yeh. Me too. It's so much to see there. It'll take several weeks to go thru tours in there. It'll be better to work there to see all the wonders of this small city. Do they have dining halls like college campuses have? That'll be AWESOME.
Appreciate RJ and team's effort to think about every aspect in a truck and SUV. They really thought this through, something which the legacy carmakers won't do. Rooting for Rivian. Hope they make it big and bring out more awesome EVs.

I would love to see one of the extended vans turn into a wheelchair van with a Under Vehicle Lift(UVL)… this is a need. My daughter and myself would greatly benefit from something like that! I love the company and it’s cutting edge technologies. I can’t wait to see what’s in the future for Rivian!
After 3 VIN # matches I finally got my R1T this last weekend. Truly amazing vehicle. I had to take it over for PPF and ceramic coating but I'm looking so forward to getting it back and drive it a lot more. I only got to see a little from the catwalk - as the rest was roped off. It seemed that all the bays were in use so I'm not exactly sure how they'll eventually 4x production output, but I'm sure they'll figure it out. Also looking forward to OTA updates to give me those niceties that I use to have with my Model 3 - such as Netflix, GPS based retractable mirrors and garage door openers, but I'm sure they'll make it eventually. Good job and keep making it better.
If I remember correctly, they just did an update in regards to the garage door openers, a YTber/ R1T owner posted about a couple of days ago. so 1/3 so far lol
@@gerardor7967 I was told at the pickup that it's not GPS based and I don't see any configuration for that (so I think he was right). Small thing but it was nice...LOL.

We’re waiting for ours. I can’t wait to have two EVs. But, the Rivian will be epic, I know. Two seniors with a Rivian going all over Idaho, Oregon and Washington…and NorCali. Can’t wait.
I've been foaming at the mouth since the day I first saw the R1T about two years ago. I've seen a few in the wild here and there and I'm super impressed. I will be a Rivian owner damn soon and I cannot wait to make it happen. Super stoked for this vehicle to be in my garage someday!
I just literally pulled alongside a rivian pickup truck and was amazed. I have never seen one before. So I looked it up to see who makes them and to get some more information about the company. I’m so pleased to see what it’s doing and especially to see how young the CEO and founder is. This is amazing and I hope that it dies extremely well and grow ten times fold.

Giving almost a fresh new meaning to being "BUILD IN THE U.S.A." I'm a fan. I was on the Central Coast in California last month and saw my first RS1 parked in the Redwoods off Highway 9 and then again another one driving up the coast north of Santa Cruz. Both were different in color, which was refreshing since so many other E.V.'s come in only a few choices color and if you want it in a different color You Will Pay! Haven't Been able to purchase my own E.V. but when I do it will most likely be a Rivian!
I'm way out in Hawaii, dreaming of loading my surfboards and taking a cruze to the Northshore. I love this company and product so much ill wait forever to get my truck! Rivian rocks! Go adventure!

Watching Munro Live's video of a dissasembly of a R1T, there's a lot of stuff Rivian could do to reduce the number of parts used in the frame of the R1T. RJ seems to be quite a bit more respectable, and he is MUCH better public speaker than Elon ever was. I watched the initial 1st truck off the assembly line video and I seem to think RJ is a very humble man.
That's such a great video. I know most car factories are like this but it's seriously impressive. Rivian are a proper car maker; I know there are bears out there who want them to fail but I think we should all be rooting for their success. This is another great American company doing great things. I test drove an R1T recently and it was amazing. Really well built and great to drive. Good on them.
