Thanks for the great response to this video. It was supposed to go out on December 20th and then I got sick and couldn't edit or do voice over. Hopefully I will be able to edit the Miniature Iceberg video next weekend.

Awesome that you were able to grab one! I drove an hour to an Ollie's in Tennessee only to be told by the cashier that resellers bought out the entire D&D stock the first day... I guess that's what's selling on Amazon now

I got a few of the $3 colorform tiles packs to split with my cousin. I plan to get some 2” LITKO acrylic discs to make use of the colorform “stickers” in situations where I’m not using the glossy tiles. They’ll make the tents, bear rug, and other things useable in scenes using physical magnetic dungeon tiles.

When I saw this sale, I bought 2 of the terrain cases, 2 of the creature token cases, and the krynn boardgame. Having 2 of each of the cling cases is nice when they're only $2 to $3. The main benefit of the boardgame is the 6x6 battlefield tiles. Those pieces are great because they fit perfectly with the military combat grid rules Matt Colville came up with for Kingdoms and Warfare. I also lucked out and found 2 of the dragon figures from the Shang-Chi movie. You can never have enough giant dragon "minis."

Good finds. I do have to say, that I bought Tyrants of the Underdark for much the same reason, it was $10 on clearance, and now it's one of my favorite little board games. So give that a try, you might be surprised by it. Who knows.

At that price, the terrain box is worth it. unfortunately the nearest Ollie's to me is almost 600 miles away. Wish we had them here, with those prices. Miss the old Pic-n-Saves, too!

It seemed odd that after hearing about the deep discount on these products at Ollies in others videos, you hadn't even heard of the store! Glad that you made the effort to pick up multiple sets for your local gaming club/library groups. Kudos to you. 👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎 Not a store that I'd heard about, (I'm in the UK), so American players are lucky if they feel they can get use out of these discounted sets. Hope that the New Year finds you on the road to recovery, and more of your review videos on bargains and discounts. 😃😃😃😃

There are a couple of chains of discount stores here in the US. They generally sell overstocked stuff for cheap. The store that I used to go to was amazing back in 2008 but now...not so much. It's interesting to visit a store like this that has a massive selection of graphic novels but it's not worth the extra 1.5 hour drive unless they have something special like this.

I picked up a few of the terrain sets back in December, but couldn’t find the creature sets, which is what I really wanted. Dropped back into an Ollies today and they had the creature sets in. I was able to pick up several to share with friends and local dnd clubs. The creature sets are actually a useable product (more so than the terrain), with pretty nice weighted pieces. I plan to print out some custom stickers for my random OSR third party monsters.

You should be able to find a product called contact paper, made for drawers/cabinets, that could go on regular paper or board that these clings would stick to. I think that you could also draw on it with dry erase markers.

My buddy picked up the same two sets for me for Christmas. The board game a so-so, outcome, but I'm going to look into it. The tiles however, were where its at. I'm a 3D terrain fanatic, but the tiles are fantastic for dungeons, indoor spaces, and deep places depicted fast.

Whelp I can see Massachusetts from my front yard on a clear day (I feel more racist just looking at it lol), but Boston is over 3 hours away. The Ollies in the Mid-Hudson Valley only had the D&D action figs when I was there last week. I93? Ya must live near Tetsubo57 (old D&D RU-vidr in Manchester IIRC). If ya dig the bear skin rug, I recommend checking out Lady Sabelle Designs (something tells me you already have). They have some great plaster/clay molds for bear skin rugs, kinda like Hirst Arst molds. Heroscape was great! Thanks for the tip.

I visited an Ollie's in Mississippi over the Christmas break and purchased 2 sets of each Campaign case with 20% off the total price. So I got 4 of them for $912 with tax!!!

I managed to get the board game for $8.00 and the creature packs for $2.40 each (got them during a 20% off Christmas sale) So I was able to pickup something like 5 sets. I plan to keep two of them and I will likely gift the others to people that I play with.

We got in the store about a week after Ollie's started to advertise having them on FB. One of the employees said these terrain packs sold out the first day they put them out. Which was at least 5 days before we got there. I walked the store a bit in case somebody set one down in an odd location. Sometimes in these cases you get lucky. Alas, I did not. But the game isn't a bad grab for the $10 we paid for it. And it's something to try playing to hook friends into other tabletop games I have. So I added it into our game collection and moved on. Considered it an early Christmas gift for me.

They only had the Kryyn set at the Ollie's near me. The terrain set looks like a much better deal. You can't buy a cheeseburger at Mc Donalds for $3 now a days. If anyone is wondering, I would pass on the Kryyn set next time.

I guess traveling to another state may add to the 2.99 cost, but looks like you got some other loot too. Makes it worth the trip. I heard about a similar event a couple of weeks ago. I do have an Ollie's across town so stopped by but this one (Florida) didn't have any D&D or TTRP items. they did have a lot of comics and graphic novels though.

I buy a lot of cheap games "because they're $8 and have miniatures". 50% of said purchases have been more than worth the money spent, and I feel like I've more than broken even. Sometimes it goes like that though, the miniatures aren't always worth the $. I called a few family members that live near an Ollie's, a few weeks ago. No one has called or texted back. Sent my brother a text saying I'd give him $20, plus shipping for the stuff and the cost of the stuff. Such is life. Maybe the universe is telling me 1000 minis is enough

Are you kidding me? You don't need half the stuff that's marketed. You can do the entire hobby with notebook paper, pencils and dice (or a free dice app). Rules are free in the form of the 5.1 SRD or any of the cheaper retro clones in the OSR. Go grab Basic Fantasy and evey single supplement and adventure module available for free. Your set forever. Prisoners in penitentiary use a homemade old school spinner since dice+cards are not allowed. All you really need is imagination and time.

I picked up 3 each of the Terrain Case and the Creature Case. While I'm not sure if I'll use either at my regular D&D table, I think they will be handy for travel play, like conventions and/or meetups. At less than $3 each, yea, worth the price and the effort to get my hands on them.
