I had the opportunity to babysit my five year old nephew today, and we watched this together for the first time. He loved it and asked to watch it again. I forgot how much I love the music in this film. I'm glad I could pass it on to someone who appreciates nature and loves flowers as much as me. ❤
I come back to this song when I want to feel a sentimental Nineties Kid boost. No matter what technical or story flaws the movie had, I think this song is perfect.
In Memory of Dom Deluise born:1933 died:2009 remembering Dom Deluise as tiger in an American tail 3 and Stanley in A Troll in central park from Don Bluth
Only when we educate ourselves on WHY the world is so bad in the first place. You can't get rid of a roach infestation if you don't even know you have roaches, right?❤
I just have to come out and say the nostalgia critic really crossed the line in bashing this film... It was sweet, charming, creative, and beautiful to watch. He can go sit in the corner and enjoy his secret of nimh if he wants. RIP Dom Deluise ^^
While the movie is not without certain flaws, I still retain a big affection for it and I always hated Doug's nasty attacks on it. He just went too far. He failed to appreciate the good things about the film. Honestly, I'm surprised Don Bluth and Gary Goldman did those videos with Doug, considering the savageness of his review. Maybe they aren't proud of the film, either? I suppose its box-office failure lowered its image in their eyes. But I think it's one of their better films.
This song is so true with how we can protect our world from any natural disasters such as fire and such. After everything that has burned in the fires here in California it was all black and miserable but now all that black is turning green slowly because of the rain and I'm proud that our planet can heal with a little help from nature and man. Thank you Don DeLuise for the song you always sound good meaning every word RIP
Selestias Selestias It’s about believing in yourself, embracing your powers, finding joy and finding the courage to make the world around you better as well as yourself.
I love this movie. It's really hard to find it on swedish. All of Don Bluth's movies was made with swedish dub on 90's, but on 21th century all dissapear and only availible on english and italian. Miss it :'(
I watched this 'till the VHS broke, and this is a frikking childhood memory! I know how you feel, I grew up with this movie on swedish. Nostalgia on a very high level
I love this song and film. Listening to it as an adult reminds me that reality is what we make it. We can still be happy with having little and find happiness in little things and never lose faith. This is important in today’s society.
Still my favorite song in the whole movie Hard to forget even 30 years later Thank you Don Bluth Not all his films are perfect but he still leaves a lasting impression on the world of animation
Lyrics: I like to close my eyes, So my heart can plainly see. Right through the way things are, Clear to the way they ought to be. To some where that’s safe and sunlight and serine, Ooh, and absolutely green. Picture a perfect place, Where there is no doom and gloom. Birds singing happy songs, and flowers bursting into bloom. A somewhere like no where else you’ve ever seen. That’s absolutely green. That’s how the world can be if we just want it. Why isn’t that way, do you suppose? Maybe, cause no one’s concentrating on it. Just give it love and kindness, and see how green it grows. Maybe it’s just a dream, But I know deep in my heart. If everyone believed, Believing is the place to start. We could fill everywhere with flowers, If each of us used all our powers. If we all cared, is what I really mean. We could all live in a world that bright and shining, and absolutely green. We could all live in a world that’s bright and shining, And absolutely green.
The most joyful time of my life. Nostalgia isn't even a word that can touch the way I feel listening to this. My god. This is still just as beautiful as I remember. Dom was a legend.
When I'll listen to this record it brings tears out of my eyes he's right about our planet we got to make the world absolutely green if we can't do that who will I love a troll in Central Park that was a good movie it bring me back as a kid good memories I wish I could go back in time and Joint it once again stay safe people peace out
I actually saw A Troll in Central Park today on DVD. While I didn't hate I per say, I didn't love it either and thought it was a decent time waster at best. However, with that said, I love this song, as it was the best part of the movie in my eyes and wholeheartedly agree with the song's message on protecting and taking care of the world around us and trying our best to make our world and the lives of others better. Granted, while I don't believe this movie had the best way of displaying that message, I will give credit where credit is due and give the movie a golf-clap for saying that important and crucial message to its audience, as I believe it's important now more than ever for people to both hear and properly understand that. So bottom line, while this is not a good movie and my least favorite film from Don Bluth, at the same time, thank you movie, Don Bluth, and Stanley the Troll for telling us how important it is to make the world we live in bright, shiny and absolutely green.
To me it’s a good film precisely because of those last reasons, plus the great performance by Dom DeLuise. It may not be a Bluth masterpiece like An American Tail but I don’t think it ranks amongst his worst either.
Terrell Townsend I haven’t seen this since I was 18 on the Friday after Thanksgiving in 2011. I’m 27 now. I used to watch this movie a lot when I was little
The songs and the animation is ok,but if this movie were a kind of candy and I just happened to eat it,I'd be in a hospital 'cause I just fell in a coma worse than Snow White when she ate her stepmother's poisoned apple
Good God! My Little Pony, the Care Bears, Teletubbies, Cabbage Patch Kids, The Smurfs, Barbie, Pound Puppies, Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, Barney the Dinosaur, all the High School Musicals, Jem, and the goddamn Get Along Gang are fucking butch compared to this!
I know it was still his early days but I feel that Doug walker was too hard on this movie when he reviewed it as the nostalgia critic all those years ago
