Good comments, Tish - all the feedback from your viewers point to an understated and underwhelming offer from VW for the luxury vehicle price! Car companies have lost their way with high prices for boring cars across the board - private buyers not impressed! Company car market keeping prices high. 😢
I owned this car petrol version V6 for almost 6 months now and where am living this car is cheaper than Q7 v6 with USD45k and Cayenne with USD65k.. as previous owner of cayenne and GLE43 3 yrs each, this Touareg drive ability, comfort, infotainment system are far better than the other two cars without exaggeration… amazing car
Great Review Tish and congratulation to you for getting 50k subscribers. I don't think I'll be getting a Touareg anytime soon, so I'll have to be content working on them. On some trim levels the rear badge does light up. I think the diesel will probably remain the strongest seller. 👍
Mmm! Shame about the £80k price, good news on reaching 50k subs though. Would be better if you had 80k subscribers and the Touareg was £50k 😊 I’ve looked at trading in my 11 year old 2013 63reg 66500 mile 107,065 km R-line for a 2018 18 reg Touareg. Can’t justify the price of a new Touareg but I really like the tech of the 2018 onwards models. A great tow vehicle too and a nice powerful quiet and smooth V6 diesel engine. I’ve only averaged just over 6000k miles 9700km per year so just about run in. Had the gearbox serviced last year and has got full VW service history. I have the deployable tow bar as I use it to tow with. It tows perfectly and plated at 3.5 tons just like the other Touareg models new or old. When I sell my caravan I’ll most probably be looking for a late 2019 Volvo V90 for around £18k upto £24k depending on model and mileage. There’s so many good vehicles to choose from these days. I might hang on to see what the government have got up their sleeve because I doubt it won’t be good news for any of us motorists. Thanks for your review Trish. 👍
Great review, and I'm glad VW haven't messed with the styling too much. The only things I don't like are, the plastic inserts on the wheels, and the Audi A1 style interior air vents.
The price bump for the facelift here in New Zealand wasn’t appreciated, if you want to compare it to similar Euro SUV’s it’s still pretty good value I guess but pre facelift prices made top of the line Korean and Japanese SUV’s look a bit expensive. This model of Touareg has always been quite handsome in my opinion and this latest update has made a little more so and a good bit better looking than the new Tiggy’s. I like the interior too, quite a stand out design.
The new era where every single individual is considered to be a family man with wife, kids, mother-in-law and a dog is pathetic. So, please, auto industry, keep building more 4-door monstrosities for this new era.
I went into VW UK website to check my facts, but Touareg seems to have disappeared. Not happy that all UK ones have pano roof, something I refuse to have. Also not happy with restricted trim choice if you don't want a plug-In Hybrid.
The price is up there with a Range Rover but the VW would be way more reliable. Though well finished a Bentley it certainly isn't. The styling looks great but those God awful looking black and silver wheels everyone seems obsessed with putting on their cars these days would be the first thing i'd change. And don't worry Tish like yourself i often think i'm 32 also even though i'm 62.🤣
Not a criticism Tish, but you need to say "Red Bull!" As "Energy Drink, or just Drink.people might think you're sponsored by RB, which I'm sure you're not.
Putting this in the same class as a BMW X5 is like putting Jordan's and Clarke's in the same class. The Clark's is popular, functional, durable, but certainly not as stylish. 😂😂😂 right off the bat: the style. I like the changes that they made up front, love the LEDs, and overall it's a decent looking car. The interior is not as refined as the X5 though. Still some cheap parts in certain places, and a manually tilting steering wheel instead of electronic at this price point? That's a zonk. And as much as I love touch screens we need more physical buttons. That's the same issue I have with the X5. Now in terms of performance, the VW is definitely more comfortable, thanks to the air ride suspension, and the 4WD is near perfect. Also the fuel economy is top notch.👍🏿 BUT..... when compared to the almighty X5, it edges out in every other category: style, luxury, suspension, practicality, camera resolution, wheels, technology, and of course engine choices. You can go from 3.0L I6 Turbo Diesel, to petrol, PHEV, and that powerful 4.4L Twin Turbo V8!! Far more expensive than the Toureg of course, and yet BMW X5s are everywhere! But the VW Toureg may be just right for other car enthusiasts and it is a more comfortable alternative, but certain NOT better than the X5. Great review Tish, and congratulations on your progress.
Have you checked audi q8 then? The same car, the same engine and the interior quality is also the same though it is 15k more expensive lool. I really got dissapointed with new audi q8 s line and all the cheap plastic in there. And x5 is useless with rear seats. No space at all. It is mostly show off car.
That V6 Diesel VAG engine have a notoriously poor quality timing system. Bottom line; VW are nowhere near the brand they used to be. I have a 17plate Passat R Line estate TDI 190 ps and an 03plate Golf GTI TDI. The golf leaves the passat miles behind in regards to not only reliability but quality also. VW just aren't the brand they used to be and it's sad to see
@@SF-rs3xm Q7 & X5 interior is miles better quality. Let alone the Porsche or Bentley. They may sit on the same basic platform but there are loads of revisions.
@@SF-rs3xm Whatever helps you sleep better at night. The reality is the Touareg has the cheapest interior of the lot with the most outdated infotainment. It’s the budget choice. No option for V8. Step up to the premium models Q7 X5 Cayenne For that. Tick a box if you want adaptive cruise lol.
@@JohnGuidetti751 the infotainment has just been updated and is much bigger and better than the X5, that is a super outdated interior. The Touareg is a premium model conceived originally by Ferdinand Piëch. Leather on the dash and on top of the door cards does not come standard in the X5 X line like in the Touareg. The Mercedes GLE comes as a 4 cylinder as standard if you think the engine size is that relevant? The option for the Touareg R is the PHEV and with the electric motor makes it a super refined powertrain and is the same as in the Cayenne E hybrid? I don’t really understand your hatred. There are reviews where the Touareg beats the GLE and X5. The British mentality is all about brand image and bling apparently 🤣
@@SF-rs3xm VW infotainment better than idrive? Confirmed you’re slow in the head. The Toureag is the budget version of the Q7. The leather on the dash on the Touareg is fake leather. GLE yes 4 cylinder to V8 choice for everyone. Why no V8 in a Touareg? Why you getting excited about adaptive cruise? Touareg R top model is BASE Cayenne E hybrid… lol What channel says a Touareg is better than X5? Or Q7 I’m not British either the more you reply the more I laugh at you.
You were probably on terrible because you knew what you were talking about and you didn’t seek people what they didn’t want or need! Crikey, price wise, if you’re on a monthly, I you really are going to be seriously considering some pretty punc(y alternatives. Think th3 channel is fab, found you through Amelia automotive. Bot( of yo7 are really good.
