imo this is the best camper trailer i’ve seen where if you wanna get a good nights sleep in the backwoods after a nice day fishing or hunting or whatever you might be doing away from home. imo this is the tow along you want, also i agree with other comments, these australia outback (inspired) campers are the best on the planet. these ppl know how to build a camper. i’m in love with black series. 💯🏆💯

It is not high quality. It is made in China and all of the quality control issues that come with it. This has horrible reviews.

@@IAmWoody thanks for the tip. Most all RVs made in usa are overpriced garbage. Lance brand seems the best for the money. Airstream is ok maybe but far overpriced, and you gotta like the aluminium can look. Hahahaha

Amazing! I have never heard of this manufacturer but man I am really impressed with all the details inside and out. I'm truly going to look into this manufacturer when I go and buy a trailer in the future. finally somebody actually made a trailer that's really rugged and built to take some abuse. I'm completely impressed with the suspension underneath the frame and the trailer tongue in front. Hats off to this manufacturer keep it up this is really awesome.

This Treg Hitch is old tech. I had one on my 2010 Ultimate off road camper trailer, sometimes it was difficult to remove the pin especially on uneven ground. We replaced it with a DO35-II Hitch, now no probs. A dream to use. I would say most off road van makers in Australia have stopped using the Treg. As some people have commented, Kedron is the best off road caravan, that would be my choice if I had enough money and room to store it. If this one is made in China, be carefull.

Couple of things I would change: 1. Larger fresh, black, and grey tanks 2. Add a fuel station rather than jerry cans. 3. Add a generator 4. Add more solar panels and batteries. And that's if you're choosing to make heavy use of the inverter. Otherwise if you're off grid, add a generator. Tank sizes. You can easily burn through 50 gallons of water in a few days off grid. The grey tank will fill up rather quickly if you're showering and washing dishes in trailer. It takes us about 5 days to fill our 60 gallon grey tank off grid. Listen to your customers, they will tell you what they need.

as soon as i saw the trailer i was like this looks so Australian and the he said it- " design was created in Australia". Reminds me of the Kedron Caravans with the suspension set-up and the aluminium plating on the outside. They have the best offroad camper trailers according to me.

That secondary door that he described being for dogs was actually intended to keep all the Aussie critters out while still letting some air past. :-) I don't think these would be too great outside of the main recreation season in the US, though--definitely not designed for freezing weather. The coldest temperature ever recorded, anywhere and from when temperature records were first kept in Australia, is only about -4 degs. F. When I think of rough off-road camping in the US, I think of many times when I have been out enjoying the winter.

Never compare MDC with kedron! This is the level 1 Kedron is the level 10 I’d never own one of these mobs trailers, if I got it for free I’d sell it to save for a kedron!

@@edgyrules true. MDC is on the lemon caravans list by Tracey Leigh in Australia. Kedron is world class and from what I have seen of U.S. vans would easily trump all of them.

This is an awesome, hardcore and luxury overland travel trailer. By watching Australian RU-vid videos, it appears the Australians have been doing some of the best, most innovating overland travel trailers. It looks like many Australians enjoy going out in the outback, off the grind in their off road vehicles and of course the Australians with some money take these well prepared travel trailers. I can see these most awesome travel trailers becoming very popular here in America.

Been very interested in off-road style trailers. My first was a nuCamp T@B 320 CS-S; light weight, easy to pull, but small. The kitchen was in a clamshell out the back. We purchased a Walker Tent that attached to the side of the trailer that basically doubled our space. What we found was when we traveled and the weather was nice, everything was good. When it wasn't nice - like our last trip, we have to park and then brave the elements to get the tent up. Inside we either have a bed or eating area, so one or the other and the small bathroom was smaller than what is found on most airlines. When we setup or broke camp in bad weather, we had to set the tent up within 24-hrs to let it dry or we would get mold. The plus for the trailer was it's size and clearance - off-road tires with plenty of under carriage clearance. nuCamp recently released the T@B 400 Boondock and we took delivery last week. Same clearance, a bit heavier, but separate sleeping/eating areas and the bathroom is larger. The 30-gal water tank and embedded solar plus three-way fridge allows us about 4-5 days of boondocking. My thoughts on this trailer is: given the size/weight you'll need a full size TV, curious about the tongue weight as that would impact towing; the outside kitchen is nice, but you'll need some sort of awning. The dual shock system is nice, but IMHO the under carriage clearance at the shocks isn't that great. The 50gal water tank sounds attractive but think weight. For a trailer with a 30gal water tank that is full, you've added around 250lbs to the overall weight. This goes back to what TV you have - will the vehicle you purchase to pull this truly be something that you could or would want to take off-road? I also mirror some of the other comments - lots of bling but once you get pass that, it isn't all that impressive. I think the title True Overland RV is a bit misleading.

These things are designed in Australia and made in China. They are designed by a company called MDC or Market Direct Campers, look at some reviews of the MDC products and don't get caught up in the bling.

Honestly these are on a scale 0-10 about a 4 in Australia for quality. We make the best off road vans in the world and I wish America got to experience more of what Australian manufacturers had to offer in the overland/off-road industry.

Big Truck Big RV Bruder Expedition, Kedron, Lotus too. Unfortunately, while I like the intent, this camper is made in China and can be purchased on Alibaba for $30k. Nothing wrong with that, but I think buyers should be aware. Also, not sure I’d want a wood frame camper for off-road adventures, I guess that’s why the body only has a 1 year warranty.

@@Defender_Tom Hey Defender, they are not wood frame. I am the Utah dealer that sells them. This trailer in the video is actually my trailer. It has an aluminum frame and aluminum composite interior and exterior walls. so you can get some other trailers and similar ones to this on Alibaba you can't actually get this unit. Especially for the price you say.

In Aussie, Black Series, Patriots, Bruders, & Kedrons are typically towed by 6x6 (3 axle) off-highway crawlers, usually built from (adapted from) Toyota Landcruisers, with fully "lock-up" diffs (A Ram Power Wagon would be far too "Pussy" for the task !!)

Thanks Big Truck Big RV, Very similar to the ones we plan to build soon at a building in Texas. We dislike double sinks as well. DEFINITELY don't want the clothing washer. Love the windows, great idea. The huge outdoor kitchen not needed either. Love the suspension and ground clearance. Will definitely go with lithium batteries and a fully solid walkable roof. Probably no solar on roof but rather top quality flexible portable solar panels. 👍🥇

@Yar Nunyayes, I've heard that, but I hear the best flexible solar panels are extremely good. However, I will research further. The huge advantage of flexible solar panels is they're so lightweight and much less bulky. I just try to mount as little as possible on the roof. If campers park in the shade they are useless anyway, so I'm going with two 100-150 watt panels that I'm free to place anywhere I want where the sun actually is. I know the extension wired should be as short as possible due to 12volt power loss over distance. Thanks

Good vid - way better then the "dude, oh dude" other review of these units. Love the concept of the ruggedized trailer but its very expensive and not 4 season as far as I can tell which may not matter to most but insulation to keep it cool as well as warm if you're boon docking and not plugged in is going to matter.

It looks like a nice camper for the market. I'd love to see one in person. I'd love even more to see a Kedron Topender from Australia. Independent air suspension and ultra high quality. They definitely cost a lot though.

What a great trailer! You did a nice job with the interview and the tour. I really enjoyed it. Kudos for getting him to state a price point. One suggestion: when someone is showing and explaining a technical detail that's at knee level, point the camera at the thing they are talking about (so we can actually see it) instead of at their face. So many RU-vidrs make this common error, and it is very frustrating for us viewers. Happy Camping

Cool vid ... nifty trailer .... Australian inspired .... Australian ones are more of a pop-up fold out Swiss Army Knife trailer ... DownUnders have about 16 drawers & cabinets that seem to come out of everywhere with more canvas than Ringling-Bros. ..... way expensive to import. I’ve watched videos where an Australian one toppled over & not even the silverware was out of place after being righted. This one is nice, can go to a lot of cool places & is quicker to set up & you won’t be showering in a canvas closet.

If any of you guys are into off-grid 4X4 camping, check out 4wd Action from Australia. The usually take a trailer with them for "testing purposes", and they have taken this brand with them before. I can tell you, these trailers go through hell and back, and still function great

One thing us Aussies can do is build bullet proof off road camper trailers, and I'll be buying one when I retire...by the way, that trailer coupling is called a "treg hitch"

Nice sturdy trailer, so what will last longer Black Series or a Airstream flying cloud?? I like many things about Black Series the screen door and windows and height of trailer price tag is hefty. I liked sales man he did a good job BILL! THE SHOWER LOOKS HUGE. I think this overland would be a nice home to live permanently must find a BIG Truck to pull this rig!! Good video thanks!!
