I thought you meant The Runaways as in the movie about the 70s all-girl rock band, which would have been a funny coincidence, because that movie also had Scout Taylor-Compton (Laurie from the Rob Zombie films)
Fun fact if you look closely: one of Michael's eyes looks blurry, which is because of Laurie stabbing him in the eye with the hanger. And there is a small scar on his neck from when she stabbed him with the knitting needle. I always admire this movie's attention to detail.
Yup. There's also a small hole on the left side of his mask from where Laurie stabbed in with the needle. I love that they made sure to keep all of these details...
Good eye! I noticed his eye being blurry, but never noticed the scar or hole in the side of the mask, they really did the film right by all these little details.
RIGHT?! I JUST commented on how beautifully flawless she looks. The hair, that beautiful face, the outfit and that amazing necklace... Gotta love this Queen! 👑
Literally the best part of this whole movie is Karen in the basement calling for her mom only to say “got ya”. My entire theater screamed. Karen Strode is the best.
Karen was terrible in this movie. Very wooden performance- especially the monologue about her childhood. Might as well have had the cue card in her hand.
I saw this in the cinema with my 74 year old mother. She saw the original in theatres and never saw any of the sequels, but when this one came out she was so keen to go. It was pretty awesome
Julian is THE CUTEST and smartest kid in horror movies in forever. Especially after Michael got the dancer kid with the smokers cough, Julian was 100% on the table. That "gotcha" moment is just *chefs kiss* as is that NECKLACE Alanda!
"You're the opposite of whatever Dr. Loomis is! Dr. Doomis!" LOL that one got me good. I'm so happy you deciding to react to this Halloween a little early. Definitely the strongest of all the sequels.
This was my first Halloween in theaters. I never thought I’d get to see a new movie with JLC back as Laurie in theaters, but I did. I remember my theater was packed and it was a vibe.
Same here! I grew up watching the original Halloween with my dad. I was so excited when I got to see Michael and Laurie in a theatre for the first time! Truly an epic experience 🙌🏼
I love the comparisons between Laurie and Michael and also some of the scenes that they flip the scrip on like when Laurie is hiding in the dark watching Michael instead of the other way around or when he knocks her off the 2nd floor of the house and when he takes a second look she's gone. I also really love the scene where the camera follows Michael from behind as we follow him through the neighborhood. I can't remember if we've ever had a scene like that in the other movies.
I kept waiting for Karen to pull it together and get on board and the moment she hit 'em with "gotcha" ... I burst into tears - I was so stressed out & my heart sang! Yes, gurl YES. And it goes without saying, JLC is the GOAT for a reason, she's perfection
"YOU ARE NOT DR. LOOMIS, YOU ARE ANTI LOOMIS!!! YOU ARE DR. DOOMIS!!!!" 😂😂😂 Yeah Alanda sis, everybody tripped out when he did a 180! Love your reaction sis
“If you pull a wig out of this bag!” Omg 😅 MM pulls out all of the stops here. Even toe tagging a little boy and sending him to his maker! I stan for this level of savagery!
Yo, Michael killing that boy in the beginning had everyone shook. I think he only did it because he saw him as a threat, but still. It wasn't like when he tried to kill Jamie or almost ran over our Billy lol...
I must be the only one who either did not care or think he killed that kid. Like it looks like he just banged him against the door. That’s not how you break someone’s neck. They just added that in there. I’m not buying it even years later.
@@CoriolanusSnowden You think it's far fetched that Michael Myers, who literally had his hands wrapped around the boy's neck the whole time, was able to snap the neck of a child?...
Halloween (2018) seems like an absolute treat for the fall season. It has everything you could ever wish for in a horror flick. Alanda’s reactions are sure to make us feel lightweight after a long day. She certainly knows how to cheer us up.
Judy Greer from 13 going on 30 who plays Karen truly shines in Halloween Kills she really takes over has so many emotions to go through at once her performance is next level.
i genuinely really like karen as a character, i don’t know why i felt so strongly about judy greer but i just adore her. staircase scene in kills with the music was incredible, so good.
What I appreciate about this one is that director David Gordon Green stated that-even though the story was ignoring everything after the 1st-he wanted this film to be a tribute to the entire series as you can see through several callbacks (there are quite a few to Halloween 4 in this one and the next one). I think that was very humble and respectful of him to do that. He aimed to make a film everybody- new, old, and even non-Halloween fans- could enjoy. It's such a treat watching your reactions and I am so glad you appreciate these films.
A lot of people hate the Dr. Sartain twist but in reality it fuels the entire movie and we were given clues the whole time that he was crazy. He literally sets Michael free and then takes him to Laurie. Without that character doing those things- this entire trilogy wouldn’t exist. I am especially excited for you to get to the next one because Halloween Kills is a banger that’s horribly underrated.
Best moment, right before the babysitter says Run Julian, Julian actually comes back up the stairs to see what's going on and you can hear him say nope! Smartest person in any horror movie.
Absolutely loved this reaction. Little fun fact, the actors who played Vicky and Julian improvised the scene where they through digs at each other. Little man nailed that scene 🤣🤣🤣
Rob Zombie and the original Halloween masks are my favorites, but what I love about this mask is that it's like it's aged like Michael, it's a face we all recognize but it wears history, old battle wounds like a badge of honor on it almost. It's so clever.
With how much damage Micheal has taken, my mom is dead set on believing that he’s a demon, that he died in the OG and he got possessed. She came up with a theory that the reason why he didn’t kill the baby was because it hasn’t sinned yet. All to the dear works of my mother who is a horror fanwoman
That part when Alanda tells the boy to get back in the truck then stops to say "Oh, that lighting is beautiful too" 😂 "Lookit there, your husband's out there getting killed, do you wanna see so it don't have to be you next?! Go on and look!" 🤣🤣🤣 Alanda stawp lmao I always tell myself that the first part of resurrection happened when Laurie and Michael were on the rooftop and she ended up surviving the fall but was in a coma and the rest of what we see in resurrection is her dreaming while in the coma lol and then we get lead to this movie
Interesting facts about Halloween (2018) Jake Gyllenhaal helped convince Jamie Lee Curtis to reprise her role of Laurie Strode for the film. Jake Gyllenhaal is a family friend of Curtis' and is dubbed by her as an unofficial godson. (2) A radio call coming over the police band mentions a "disturbance at 707 Meridian", a tribute to the real-life original address of the Myers house on Halloween (1978) before it was moved a few blocks down. (3) Jamie Lee Curtis credits the film as living up to the original. (4) Sophia Miller, the actress who plays "young" Karen Strode in the film, cut 13 inches off of her hair for the role. She donated the hair to an organization that makes wigs for children who have hair loss.
i really appreciate the effort you put into making sure we can follow along even without having seen the film. editing like that can’t be easy with the copyright police. thank you so much for all you do and share. also gotta say i love your halloween theme song dance sO MUCH. an utter delight, every time it happens 🧡
YES!!! Loved the part where Karen was screaming that she couldn't do it to lure Michael out then was all business saying "Gotcha" then *KABLAM!!!*😁😁😁 Also your reaction was 👨🍳💋 "Did I raise a punk ass bitch?!" 😂😂😂
I loved this one too! "Kills" I had mixed feelings about, it mostly pissed me off, but the daughter and granddaughter are both really great in it. And IIRC you see a quick clip of Julian telling his story to the news lol, which made me very happy!
The mild yet impactful scream that came out my throat when I saw this video popping up! So glad you went right onto the 2018 timeline. You are singlehandedly enhancing this entire franchise with these reactions, I'm am so sure all the fans are living for it and just..thank you!
Halloween 1978 was & always will be the best. This one was good though! I loved how it brought back Laurie and liked how it showed what PTSD could do to someone’s life as well.
Your executive decisions are always on point; the gun porn - I felt it too at that moment; the commentary, the wit, the sass, the hilarity! - and still the empathy! Loved this so damn much. Can't wait to see what else you have for us this Ghostly October 🧡🎃 (Michael was always bad, but he got extra hell points for killing the kid who simply wanted to get his dad and head to dance class; thank god for Julian! he was so blunt, the little king) Ps: That necklace is TERRIFIC!
The poor dancer kid's death was the most upsetting to me. From that point on you know this sequel Michael has absolutely no limits. They broke the rules of horror movies, man. Kids are off limits in nearly all horror movies.
I watch a lot of reactors on RU-vid. The moment I saw you when you only had like 1,000 subs I told you you were going to blow up and you are. You're the best, you can't fake an authentic personality. 💙💙
The hype for this movie was so the best thing ever to experience! I loved waiting for it and LOVED it. You’re gonna LOVE kills. It’s easily one of the best entries in the franchise in my opinion
I honestly don't have a clue why some people hate this movie and Halloween kills. Movie was okay by my standards and okay we kept hearing evil dies tonight, didn't ruin it for me for my observation most are probably just reaching.
@@MrAnythingForSelenas people always have to find something to complain about with this franchise. Like yes I agree that evil dies tonight was VERY annoying but it as far as Michael goes and Karen and Allyson.. they ate that movie. The new timeline is amazing to me
I love the difference between H20 Laurie & H40 Laurie. The first one had to work her nerve up to fight back, H40 Laurie was ready before the opening scene lmao
This video was PERFECTION! (As always) and oh my gosh I freaking ADORE your necklace!! You had me in tears laughing, I honestly can't remember the last time I've laughed like that and I really needed it. So I just wanted to say thank you for that🖤 I love all your reactions, but Halloween franchise definitely has a soft spot in my heart! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead and happy spooky month!🖤🥰👻
Wow! I thought I was one of the only people who remembered that Judy Greer played Vylette in Jawbreaker! I've been a fan of hers ever since! She turned in a great performance in the 2013 remake of Carrie as Miss Desjardin (aka Miss Collins)
I swear there is no love like the love of a child like seeing my niece and nephew or my best friend's son get so excited to see me, just run up to me, throw their arms around me, it's the best feeling ever. It just really makes you feel like you're doing something right when your best friend tells you that her son wants to hang out with you and have a picnic for lunch and says that you have to come otherwise he doesn't want to go LOL just the sweetest ever. My little nephew, he's like 11 or 12, for my birthday a couple of years ago (I had come out a few months before) so he learned how to make an origami heart to fold one just to make my birthday card, and colored it in like a rainbow and then he also made me a drawing (because we're both potterheads) and it had like all of the Harry Potter symbols on it and said "happy birthday muggle" it was so cute I have both of them on my refrigerator and they are two of my most prized possessions. Like if there was a fire I'd be grabbing them and shoving them in my pocket. One other thing I would definitely have to grab would be my rainbow Stormtrooper boxer briefs from Disneyland. My best friend's family went and her son picked out a pair of boxers (the rainbow Stormtrooper ones) for himself and said he wanted his mom, his dad, his cousin w(ho is like his big sister), him and his Allison to all have matching ones. My best friend has a sister named Allison, so when her son picked out the boxers and said "I think these will fit her" (by the way he's 5 so I have no freaking idea how he picked my size completely perfectly and it was actually smaller than the size I thought I was, so had my best friend called me to ask what size to get me, I would have been wrong and they would have been too big, but this was a complete surprise!) his mom (my best friend) looked at the boxers he had picked out and said "I don't think these will fit your aunt", and he looked at her confused and said "No mommy my friend Allison, the one with the rocket car", (which is what he calls my mom's Honda) and she was just so surprised she said that it made her tear up a little bit and he was like "I want her to know that I thought about her while I was at Disneyland. I know how much she loves Star Wars and how much she loves Belle so I want her to know I thought about her while we were here. So it'll be like she was here too!" I swear to God when she told me that it was like the Grinch my heart just grew two sizes LOL. The fact that he calls me "his Allison" my heart!
I absolutely adore this movie! I love the themes of generational trauma and how every character feels real and developed! Your excellent commentary is the cherry on top.
After a really rough day, your energy and positivity and love in general and for this film really was needed. Thank you. PS. if you didn't already know, these three new films have become known as The Trauma Timeline.
The way Laurie's daughter said "Gotcha." When Michael appeared. Oh I love her deep. She knew Michael loves when folks are afraid and lured him with it. Laurie is the goat but she's my baby
I love that you noticed the nod to Halloween II during Michael's walk through the neighborhood. There are lots of cool nods to many of the films. One character said the line about banning the Halloween holiday. A clear nod to Halloween 6. The kill scene in the public restroom is a more terrifying version of the restroom scene from H2O, with the little girl and her mother. Silver shamrock, from Halloween III even shows up as a nice easter egg. Great reaction!
YASSS. It was the first Halloween I got to see in theaters and I LIVED. Was not disappointed at all. Got my tickets for Halloween ends Thursday night and I get chills everytime I think about us finally getting a legit conclusion
Exactly like I was too young to watch the Halloween films in theaters The Times They came out but I was about a year or two out of high school but Halloween 2018 came out. Now I am so stoked to see the conclusion to this wonderful franchise even though it has had its many ups and downs it's still an amazing franchise all together
I love the symbolism in this film. The three generations of tough women represent the three generations of Halloween fans. They are all bad asses in their own way. Also, if you pay attention, the number 3 itself is all over the place in the movie.
Loved this reaction. I remember back then i really liked this movie. It's respectful of the original material and it has some good kills and i LOVED Laurie in this
Halloween Kills has an extended cut but know if you react to it the extended ending was meant for a Halloween Ends in the early morning after the events of Kills. The Halloween Ends story was changed to have a four-year time jump. If Halloween (2018) is about trauma, then Halloween Kills is about mob violence even if for good intentions can lead to terrible things and if you let fear control you, you'll make stupid decisions.
I never thought a year ago when I first watched my favorite movie with you (scream) how much fun and comfort this channel would bring me. my mom recently passed away in July and you've unknowingly been there for me late at night when I'm alone and need a friend or someone there. thanks and keep at it your channel is lovely!! 🖤
Michael have some shame! LMAO!!! I laugh at that so hard. I can just imagine Alanda being some sort of immortal talking to Michael and this is what she is telling him.
I'm super excited that you're on this trilogy! An actual fun fact: the ending to this was very different than the one you saw. Michael and Laurie had a knife fight that you can actually see in the trailer and both of them "died" but when they test screened it, everything was perfect except the ending so they reshot it and when they gave another test screen, it had a standing ovation so they signed for a trilogy. Halloween Kills and Ends was supposed to all happen on the same night as 2018 but fucking COVID hit so they made ends to be on this year, four years later from 2018. That will help you out for Ends when you see it! I love you so much! You're such a breath of fresh air!
Your dancing to the intro music, telling off Laurie's ungrateful daughter @ the beginning, & hope that the badass kid still lived was all LIFE ☀🌈🍀! Another spectacular review🎃 Keeping my eyes peeled for your next 1
The scene with the baby crying and Michael looking over it shows that Michael is being selective with who he kills it isn't just at random like we thought before so he's aware of what he's doing and who he's choosing
I hope alanda watches the extended version of Halloween kills. This movie I didn't love it as much as I do now. There are a few deleted scenes I wish the film was included in it. Watching your reaction to this got me hyped for the next installment! But Jamie Lee Curtis did a great job in this movie, and the kills were effective. I think this is the scariest version of Michael Myers since the original. My favorite scene from this movie was the dinner scene. As someone from an estranged family, It was cool to see how realistic it can be.
Alanda, I came across your channel in the past week after being recommended your Scream reaction video, and I was NOT disappointed. I've started watching your videos and I must say it has been a pleasure, a hoot, and a thrill ride watching your reactions. You are funny, insightful, smart, endearing, personable, and you give me Mystery Science Theater 3000 back-sass to the screen vibes that I absolutely love. I don't subscribe to too many channels but yours has definitely been added to my list! Keep up the outstanding work, and keep smiling & spreading the joy!
I love how you talk to the characters throughout the movie. I know you do it because it’s a review watch but I do it when I’m watching them too. My sister will pause every time someone speaks so it takes hours to watch with her.
Watching this with you was better than watching it in theaters. I had a great time with your reaction. I can't wait to see you react to Halloween Kills! 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🔪🔪🔪🍷🍷🍷
I loved how gagged u were for this Halloween, that's the same feeling I got watching it for the very first time. I love this new timeline (H18 and HKills) so far, sorry not sorry! Can't wait for Halloween Ends and once again love u, love ur channel, you saving lives out here. 💖💎 🌈 🎃
In my opinion, this movie is a great return to form. Unfortunately, _Halloween Kills_ is a *huge* step down. But I suppose that all-in-all it was entertaining enough and watching it with you will *definitely* be worth it/make it a good time! Now, due to the mess that _Kills_ was, I’m kinda nervous about how _Halloween Ends_ is gonna turn out. Buuuut… we’ve come this far so there’s no turning back now! I’ll try my best to be optimistic when it comes to _Ends._ It doesn’t *have* to be as good as _Halloween (2018)_ but just as long as it’s better then _Kills_ I should enjoy it well enough!!! ☺️
@@natlayton6713 You’re certainly right about that! Even though I called it a “mess”, I didn’t *hate* _Halloween Kills,_ I just found the dialogue to be laughably bad at times (At a certain point it took _everything_ inside of me not to audibly groan when anyone said, “Evil dies tonight!” 🙄) and, as someone who enjoys horror more for the suspense of what’s gonna happen next and _not_ the kills and gore, _Kills_ definitely wasn’t _for_ me. Since the moment we found out this was gonna be a trilogy I thought, “Okay, so the the second/middle film really isn’t gonna move the plot forward in any meaningful way. Got it.” And aside from one surprising death (Which I won’t mention as we’re on Alanda’s video and I don’t want to spoil it for her!) and it’s shock value, it was pretty pointless overall, at least _in my opinion._ 🤷🏼 But even though, to me, all of the above rings true, that absolutely _doesn’t_ mean that there isn’t any value to be found in it at all, _especially_ for others who are more likely to be into a fun murder fest. LOL. Like I said, _Halloween Kills_ just wasn’t made for me! And that’s all good! Not every horror film _needs_ to be made for me. (Which is a good thing because *lots* definitely aren’t!) But I’m glad that _you_ got what you wanted out of it!! ☺️
