My parents had a bi-racial marriage. It was not made easier by both family sides being critical of the other. Still, their love story endured for over 50 yrs until my mother passed away. My dad died shortly after. What an amazing adventure they had! Why must we make it so difficult for love to survive? It's a miracle to find a person who will love us and support us. We should never come between that. It is a miracle and a blessing for everyone. The bi-racial kids with a foot in both cultures are smarter too. They have the benefit of two sets of different genes and two cultures funneling knowledge into them, two or more languages, two sets of values, two religions, two great cuisines, and so on. It is a rich environment for the kids to grow up in. Everyone benefits.

A most courageous speech for those times, emphasizing that "race must have no bearing on equality and justice"". Claps Sir Seretse and his beloved wife, Ruth Williams, for their continuously inspiring love which eventually transformed a nation and racially obnoxious opinions.
