those shoes are so cute, I hope it works out if you decide to get them repaired. At least you're supporting a local craftsperson and avoiding fast fashion when you thrift and repair shoes :) also I would def watch a collective haul!
I keep a measuring tape with me thrifting. I also keep all my measurements on my phone. That way without a fitting room I am not picking up items that for sure won’t fit. Is takes seconds to measure pit to pit or a pant waist and double it to instantly know if they will likely fit.
omg I relate to what you said to a T! I’ve felt really uninspired as of late thrifting, I’ll usually only leave with 2-3 items now. I’ve been enjoying searching through depop for my thrift list items. I hope to be more inspired come summer time, but depop has been fun nonetheless! Also, I’m subbed to your vlog channel as well, wishing u all the luck and I hope you have fun with your upcoming projects!! 🧚🏻♀️✨
You inspire me sooo much!! I'm 30 yrs old ,married with a 7 yr old son with my hubby and I just lost 70 lbs in a year but in my head I think I'm still bigger. So when I shop my I'm always thinking I cannot wear stuff that I love! But I love thrifting always have and u gave me the drive to get back out there thrifting!!! I'm now a proud owner of 25 new pairs of super on trend Levi's all thrifted for 14.99 each!! I got so many cute tops and sweaters like cardigans in bright on trend colors!! Also, i love a comfy soft oversized plaid flannel. I go to the men's section and I got the nicest practically new flannels that are high quality brands like Barbour. Each were 6 bucks to 9 bucks!! I'm so happy thank u!! Btw thrifting is the way to go if you are losing weight cuz instead of paying full price for clothes that won't fit u too long u can just pay a fraction and the money goes to a great cause!
Just realized that i wasn't subscribed and I subbed IMMEDIATELY lol idk how that happened you are literally my fav content creator! i get so happy and excited everytime you post! Your style is literally everything and you radiate the best vibes ever :)
I've been doing a lot of online thrifting, too! The only thing I would suggest not to buy online is leather. I have bought stuff online where the leather peeling weren't obvious in the photos. It's really annoying when sellers don't mention the fact that peeling is already happening.
I agree I had to get a bag strap repaired because they didn’t mention the peeling. The repair man just ended up replacing the whole strap for me so I don’t have to worry about it re-peeling
@@forest487 it's a matter of personal preference, I would never buy new leather, but if something is second hand and therefore already existing, I prefer saving real leather from the landfill that will eventually decompose rather than buying faux leather which is essentially plastic. 😊
Thrifting is my favorite thing in the world and I miss going with my mom since I moved to CA with my bf and she's in IL but watching you thrift with your family made me so emotional. I do love thrifting with my bf now though 💕you're so relatable and I just love how open you are about everything and as an introvert I understand being in crowded places lol You look so beautiful btw like I love your style ♥️
Savers pricing is so wacky, they can’t decide who they are I think. They try charging Buffalo Exchange prices, but they obviously don’t curate their stuff like BE, so it’s really basic thrift store stuff, charged at 3x’s the prices they should be marked at. Hit or miss, most definitely.
The same exact thing happened to me when thrifting shoes!! I got a pair super similar to the ones in your video and the straps just completely pulled out of the foundation. And they were also the most expensive item I picked up that day! This haul is so relatable. Thank you😅
I love the skirt turned into a mini dress style!!!!! It’s soo cute!! Have never thought of doing that but definitely going to try to thrift something similar!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Those red heels gave me an instant flashback…I had an almost identical pair in purple that I wore to my freshman year homecoming dance (also, I can’t recommend Shoe-Fix shoe glue enough. You can get a bottle on Amazon. I use it to repair loose boot soles and it hasn’t failed me yet)
The red "shirt" is cute. Can you return the shoes? A simple bend/twist test can identify signs of DRY ROT. But you prob know that. YES! I'd love to see what you're finding. I've never had much luck in thrifts. But hang on. I sense a big aesthetic shift in fashion on the horizon. Maybe get inspo by taking walks and checking out what's worn on the streets?
Yes!! I’ve had that issue with thrifted shoes, particularly if they’re open toe sandals or heels but also had this issue with boots. They seem new or hardly worn, and then I wear them and the sole wears off or something. I empathize with you lol
omg sis! Thank you for these videos! Just moved to So Cal and have been wondering about which thrift stores to visit! I am plus size as well so I love your energy, content, and outfits! I would love to see your thoughts on summer outfit ideas! It is getting HOT in So Cal and I have no idea what to wear!
I really liked this video tho 🧐 and your hair looks soooo beautiful too, also the fit you wore to thrift is such an inspo for me because i have similar pieces, but i never thought of pulling them together 🤠 so i'm really happy now 🥴
That's why shoes are the only thing I don't thrift. Every single time I have they fall apart or are super uncomfortable - it seems like something is always wrong with them.
Hey, so I have been on your channel for a while and I keep wanting to ask about where you get your footwear from,,, they r rlly cute and i wld rlly like to get myself few of the pairs
It just looks like the sole is coming undone from the rest, unfortunately it's bound to happen. It's probably cheaper if you invest in proper bonding glue and a clamp, it can always come in handy. You can use a small brush or a toothpick to apply and let it cure according to the glue instructions. A shoe maker wouldn't do anything else on a sandal like that. Unfortunately faux leather and synthetic rubber inside soles are the worst offenders, they became brittle with time and disintegrate. Since I grew up in my parents' shoe shop, I always feel compelled to help 😅
KARINA IM SURPRISED I HAVENT SEEN YOU YET! we literally thrift at the same la mirada savers and the goodwill on whittier blvd! And now the one in FOUNTAIN VALLEY! its crazy because im from la habra which is by la mirada and my bf is from fountain valley so I ALWAYS go to Savers whenever i visit lol! it would be a dream to thrift with you one day
