My cousin is an expat who fell in love and joined his wife there, and sadly, he had to flee. They're future is uncertain, but nearly as uncertain as the millions who cannot run.

My niece and her husband are both US Army officers stationed in Germany. As a Ranger, her husband was sent to a base along the Poland/Ukraine border. He and his men are training hard with allied forces just in case, but my niece tells me he is frustrated. In his combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan he never felt he was in a fight worth fighting, and now he is just over the border from a fight that he thinks is worth the risk and sacrifice of fighting, and he can't get in it.
