I just got off the Pride and had an awesome experience! I don't have one complaint everything was outstanding the service the food and the crew. We were on the ship from 3/10-16...sailed Cozumel Belize and we were supposed to go to Costa Maya but because of weather conditions we were not able to dock. We did receive a refund. Wonderful experience and we're already planning another one!
Can I ask what weather conditions? We are considering Pride for Feb or March of 2025….normally we travel in August but was caught in a bad storm the last cruise so we don’t want to travel during high risk (weather) season.
@@dRed1001 our weather was really good the whole trip except for in Costa Maya it was windy and the captain couldn't dock other than that couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. They say don't book any cruises during hurricane season which is typically June through November. If you go have a great time!
Thank you Zach for this thorough review of the Carnival Pride. My family and I will be traveling on the Pride next year, as first time cruisers, by the grace of God. This review answered several questions I have as a first time cruiser. Am also glad to hear, the ship is newly renovated. I am now looking forward to our cruise. Thanks again!!!
Thanks Zach! It has changed A LOT! I've cruised this ship 5 times early 2010- 2015 and I thought we saw it all. I wanted to try a different ship....BUT with the new renovations . We are planning to sail again in December 2025. Thanks for the beautiful update on the ship...the new kids arcade is a big wow factor, my kids will absolutely love that, everything has changed A LOT....the old sports bar had sporting equipment on the walls....but this new look is GREAT! I love the updated casino...you did a great job in convincing me to plan another trip on the pride ...it looks totally different.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Can you feel the boat move a lot? We have been on sunshine and magic. Did not feel the boat on the magic…but did on the sunshine. I’m assuming it’s because it is a smaller boat. So I was wondering how was the pride.
We're cruising on the Pride next April/May and the Chef's table was sold out a year in advance!! I'm glad to hear such a comprehensive review of this ship. This is our first cruise in 16 years and our first with Carnival, so I appreciate the thoroughness. Thank you!
Keep checking on Chef's Table because there might be more availability as time gets near. Or they may not have even opened it all up yet. I would check weekly at least.
Loved your review! We were on the Pride just after you, on a British Isles cruise in Aug 2023. We love the Pride, and all of its not-so-perfect offerings. We're trying out Celebrity next, after sailing only on Carnival ships. Should be interesting!
The Pride is my favorite ship, glad you enjoyed her. I am so happy she will be coming back to Baltimore. I will be on the cruise that brings her back to Baltimore and already have 2 scheduled after that cruise.
Thanks for the review. Going on my first Carnival cruise in October and trying to gather the best information. It isn’t on the Pride, but some Carnival info is always helpful
Thanks for this review! My husband and I are going on our first cruise in January for our honeymoon on the Carnival Pride so it's great to have a comprehensive review.
Thanks for the great review Zach! Can't wait for the detailed food review. I have to say, Carnival does Chefs Table the BEST! It's odd to me, as you wouldn't think of Carnival as being a contender for amazing, creative, unique, guest experience, but after attending Chefs Table experiences with Princess, Celebrity, and multiple Carnival ships, they know how to give guests not only a wonderful experience of service, knowledge (wine pairings INCLUDED in your beverage package unlike some that want to upsell you), but the eleven courses are above and beyond any food I've had in any specialty dining experiences. I think the Carnival chefs must really take these opportunities to show off their gastronomic creativity and talents. The food is always tasty and visually special. I can't wait for further videos on Norway - I'm heading there in '24 on Celebrity Apex. 😀
Slightly off topic but I was recently on the Mardi Gras out of Florida. I had any time dining only because I booked only a month out. There were nights (more so the formal nights) where it was a 2+ hour wait to get into the main dining room!!!! What I did was either tried to get in right when dinner opened or I also had some specialty dining reservations as well which obviously moved faster with the extra cost. While I did love all the extras on the ship, I'm not sure I'd want to be on that large of a cruise ship moving forward. I'll be sailing on the Pride this summer for a Canada/Greenland cruise and I'm very excited for a smaller crowd to be honest.
This was a great review of the ship I'll be on next March, now I know what to expect, Thank you Zach... The Spirit has a similar Secret Garden, can't remember what's called, but it's decorated like animals in the jungle, so cute...my granddaughter loved it there... waiting for this series....
My last carnival cruise was in 2001. Such a bad time. Your vlog on this itinerary perhaps makes me want to rethink. I'm NCL loyal, but again thanks for the video. Always give a thumbs up for your time and effort. 👍
Enjoyed this review very much!! Carnival pride will be home pointed in Baltimore soon which is just a 4 Hour Dr. from where we live now… We have been on the pride numerous times… I totally agree with your food review… Was hoping after they refurbish we would start hearing more positives about the meals in the main dining room… Hopefully this will improve… Thanks so much!!
Thanks for this review. Will be sailing next week (sept 19th 2023) from Rome on the Pride, that we chose 1 1/2 year ago specially for the itinerary. I think we made a good choice even though it is an older ship. I think the ambiance will be different than on a carribbean cruise. Did many cruises, (over than 20) 3 on Carnival (one from New York and one from Galveston). Always had a very nice and clean cabin, good food and a lot of fun.
I went on my first and only cruise on Carnival Pride in February 2010 to celebrate my 60th birthday. We boarded in Baltimore on Sunday afternoon heading for the Bahamas. Our first port was Cocoa Beach FL. They offered several tours including the Kennedy Space Center. We had a small balcony room on the 5th level which was very comfortable. All the food was excellent and so was the service. Everyone was on deck as we pulled into Nassau. I’ll never forget how beautiful the water was. We spent the second day in Freeport and and headed back to Baltimore the following day. That was when we ran into a storm! My anxiety went through the roof! All I could think of was the Titanic! I would still like to do it again.
That what worries me. We took a cruise in August and got caught in a bad storm. The workers acted as if it was nothing…while I was sitting there about to piss my pants. We are looking into February or March to reduce the chance of hitting a big storm.
CARNIVAL PRIDE IS OUR FAVORITE SHIP!....GREAT DECOR, FRIENDLY CREW, THREE POOLS, AND A LOVELY AUDITORIUM UNLIKE THE SEAGOING EPCOT CENTER SOME PREFER. HOPE THEY EITHER CONTINUE TO RETROFIT OR BUILD ANEW!!!!
I've not sailed Carnival in years. After one 'meh' cruise I felt 'one and done'. You've shown some great attributes in your video. But service is paramount to me. After two Edge class cruises in the Retreat, I think I'd go into shock on this cruise. Sure, most of it was pretty good. But I no longer accept 'pretty good'. I'm sure it's not fair of me to compare the two. They have a wildly different cost. But as I'll repeat again and again; I'd rather go on fewer cruises and get exemplary food, service, ship, etc. than go on more at a lower price point. Thank you. I now look forward to our 13 day Silhouette cruise next May, as the area looks spectacular!
On all of the Carnival cruises we've been on, all of the crew that we've encountered more than once called us by name. I think they are short-staffed since Covid.
On your ship tour you said the area where the second floor of the nightclub had been turned into staterooms. WAS IT REALLY turned into the new Chefs Table area? The spot next to where they show the art? Just wondering. Good review. We had similar main dinning room problems on the Legend with cold food!
I was just on the pride, its propulsion system broke down in Kiel Germany. Customs only let us off twice in our 4 days stuck there, the crew and carnival did their best to get us home fast and safe but everyone was tried by the end and it got boring fast being stuck on the ship in the most boring port of the cruise.
Thanks for the info. I’m going to Europe next year. We will arrive London a couple of days early to explode London. Carnival shuttle from Dover to Heathrow airport, how to book it and do you remember the cost?
A lot of people compare Norway to Alaska, both similar and others completely different. Your thoughts? Perhaps a future video for you? PS, made me lol when you said dont go all "Karen". 😂
They promised to reimburse everyone associated with the traveling expense caused by the ship being stranded in German. They yet to reply back to a single email after 2 weeks. Anyone else experience the same?
