Valerie...Please don't Wash your old or Antique Quilts in warm water in the regular cycle it'll tear them up after awhile. Wash them in Cold water in the Gentle Cycle. I know what I'm talking about because I'm a Grand Daughter of two Quilters my Grandmother and my Mom. My Grandmother Lois Inez made Quilts for over 65 years and even one year she made everyone in the Family a Quilt because she thought she was going to pass away(It took her 20 years to pass away.) She made 39 Quilts that year. They taught me how to Quilt and my Mom and I got into doing Machine Embroidery before she passed away in 2008. I Love your new place and all your hard work. Your Family is a Great Family. I may send you something you'll appreciate immensely. I'm just not into doing it anymore due to my eyes bother me. I Love sewing more. Chat more later...

Did you not listen to her? She washes in cold on normal cycle. She said they're not vintage quilts and are in great condition. I've washed my mom's quilts for 40 years in cold water and have no issues.

Something to think about....whatever you use to clean your floors gets picked up by your animals. The residue from chemical cleaners ends up on their paws...which they lick clean, alot. My daughter works in Emergency Hospital for animals and they see animals come in every day for toxicity. We use water with a little white vinegar mixed in to clean our floors because we have pets. Just an fyi. I love how you make every room so welcoming and cozy..a real gift you have! I ❤ your videos.

Valerie, It has been My experience. When Cooking with Onions or Shallots, more just adds additional Flavors. In the future, there will be no need to store half of an Onion. Just go ahead and add it to the Recipe.

Valerie don’t stress right now about the content of your videos. We are all just glad to have an update on how you all are. Valerie, I'm a quilter and if they're made well, your quilts are doing fine in the washing machine. It's the old ones that are like the 50 years old or something. I probably wouldn't do that, but you're lucky to have them think of all the memories you'll have of her for years to come❤

Valerie, I think You will Love the White Cabinets. Even though My Kitchen is small, My Cabinets are White with two Glass inserts and My Floors are Light Oak. These Colors make the Kitchen appear so much larger and lighter. I wish I could send You a Photo.

When it's getting to cold you can put your outside table and chairs in your kitchen, that way you can still enjoy sitting as a family. Love your channel

Hi Valerie. I really enjoyed this video, particularly your animals . When you cuddled Milo it reminded me of my cat Hector, who was 18 years old. He passed away very recently and I miss him so much 😭. Take care, from Scotland 🤗

Will Milo get to be indoors more when the weather gets cooler? I worry about predators. I live in West Virginia and know that hawks can swoop down and grab there prey quickly and many in the woods like coyote and foxes can grab a small animal in the blink of an eye.

Valerie, I have a spin mop and I love it. It works better now that I learned how to use it. I'm 75 yrs old. And using it I found out I have Arthritis in my knees. So now I have to swipe it forward and back. No more sideways, that way your putting pressure on the knees. It sure makes a difference using it forward and back. Love your videos and the furry creatures.

I sure hope you get your sheet rock up soon and able the work on your fireplace and chimney. I’m a southwest Virginia girl too and I’m afraid it may get really cold soon, but it is warm then cool, warm then cool again. We are on a climate roller coaster. You need at least one place to go that is put together to withstand all the remodeling while you’re living in it. I’m glad you all are taking your time and doing it right. I’ve lived through a remodel while still living in our home and it has it’s challenges. But, It is rewarding and We survived and you will too. It will be really nice when you all get done. Just pressure spraying the front of your home and deck made a huge cosmetic difference. Take care friend.

Good general cleaning and tidying up video. Loved your time with Milo. So thankful he chose you to spend his life with after being abandoned. He just loves on you 🥰 The recipe looks good, and you could be right about doubled needing extra time. I've always baked/shredded spaghetti squash halves and served with tomato sauce. Love baked acorn squash. I love your beautiful tea towels. What brand are they and where did you find them? The quilts on your bed are so pretty. How wonderful to have such family treasures ❤

Roomba makes a combo unit vacuum and mop, I use it daily in my home, I do a more in depth mopping once every two weeks. It works great.

When you take down the kitchen cabinets, save the fronts, clean and paint them and add two handles to make trays. Ive seen these in resale shops. They come in handy when someone is sick in bed, or you can make tray tables by adding legs. The detail on the door fronts is very pretty. I have SmartCore flooring from Lowes in Blue ridge pine. Has carmel, honey and grey coloring. Looks like an old wood floor. I love it.

Hello Valerie! Renos always take longer than we think unfortunately but it’s coming along. Did y’all ever think about dong some temporary fixes like some inexpensive peel and stick flooring or painting the paneling and wallpaper? Maybe contact paper on the countertops and cabinets or painting them? Paint from Wally World and contact paper is inexpensive as well. There are always good deals online too. Not to add more to your plate, especially if you think most of the work will be done in a few months. Just a thought.

I love that pantry area in kitchen, I would definitely maximize the storage potential in there, floor to ceiling, maybe even move the freezer in there if it could work. I thinks it’s lovely that you place your foods in serving dishes instead serving out of a pan . I do the same, it makes mealtime nicer. Do you always prepare everyone’s plates? Why is that? I heard other people say they do it to make sure everyone gets a good amount? Love your stories . Thx

hey there you can get clear vent covers that have a magnet on them, they are about 3 inches high with a rounded back side to go over your metal vents to project the air out, so they are perfect to shoot the air from the vent when you have a piece of furniture over it...I have one in my bathroom it works so well. they are great if you have a vent that makes the curtains flutter, the air can come out into the room not up your curtains.

If you cut your spaghetti squash lenghtwise, scrape out seeds, and roast, its much easier to just take a fork and scrape out the filling into "spaghetti ", add some butter, s&p, parmesan cheese.
