Tremendously helpful. I appreciate your slow deliberate pace covering all the bases and I love how you dealt with the hot solder iron heat issue. I also like how you compartmentalized 6 batteries at a time making the process simpler to understand. No missing camera angles, either. making you wonder where that wire went! Thank You!

I guess I have 2 best friends named Pavel now!!! My mann, FINALLY, someone who breaks this process down in an easy to understand format! I watched your other video on the block but this was the one for me and took all confusion out of building a battery. On top of that, I am going to use Molicel's so that made it even more confusing, UNTIL NOW BRO! I can finally, confidently build my battery for my bike. Even though it may be apparent, it's worth noting that you save ssoooo much building these at home. God bless you 🙏🏽 for taking an extraordinary amount of time for the rest of us who want to learn. Let me be clear, I have watched 20 videos and none of them were remotely close to what you've done here! Not even a contest. Please keep doing what you are doing!!! The adding of bms tabs, was huge as well. I was counting packs backwards, nownI just do the P 1st, then how manynof those for my series. Just can't thank you enough as you can see lol 🎉😅

Finally got round to watching this and it's pretty awesome to be fair mate. I'm not planning on building my own pack soon, but I will be getting one made early next year. This video helped me a lot with little details I wasn't sure about like a suitable BMS. I never really understood BMS' properly at all actually. Now I know for sure a charge only BMS is perfect for what I need and a smart BMS is very much what I need as I'm really interested in monitoring the health of the individual cells. But if I ever do make my own pack, this is the video I will be following. Much respect!

What about external thermal insulation vs heat dissipation of the cell electronics? Does the bricks embedded in silicone resin do a better job as fire retardant?

You could break it up into chapters or provide time stamps in the description, but that is just nitpicking. Great video and I appreciate all the detail. Honestly, I don't know if I will ever build my own battery because small ones are cheap enough and large ones still seem to daunting. However, having a very good understanding of what goes into it will make me a better consumer, so I don't waste my money or endanger my home with a trash battery.

EXCELLENT TUTORIAL IN EASY TO USE AND FOLLOW FOR EVERYONE. A BIG THANKS TO YOU. I have been converting Mountain Bikes to e Mountain Bikes for the last 3 years. I have always been buying high capacity batteries from China. 48V, 32.2 Ah in various shapes to fit into the MTB frames. This is a very detailed instructions. Definitely a battery you can be proud of. It was great to see you soldering properly too and the reason the solder alloys better with the nickel when you sand it, is because you've removed the surface oxidation.
@PavelGarmas
@PavelGarmas 3 года назад
Paul , Thank you so much mate! Appreciate your lovely comment. Regarding the scratching of the nickel, i think it does increase the surface of the grip at the same time as removing the film...acid does clean the surface but scratching makes the bond even better.
@Paul01
@Paul01 3 года назад
@@PavelGarmas I appreciate the effort, it's great to see some taking the time to show people how to do a proper job. Yes I'm sure the scratches will help strengthen the bond, if you sand the nickel and leave it a few days before soldering, you'll probably find its hard to solder again though. Although I wouldn't recommend it to others, I use the same technique to solder li-ion cells without putting heat into them.

Thanks for an awesome build tutorial! It covered everything I had questions on about building these packs. Near the end, just before you put the heatshrink on, what is that extra connector coming out of the end of the pack (at around the 1:38:15 of the video) ? I didn't see it there in the prior shots when the pack was still in the casing.
