I had a visit from John and Jodi at The Appalachian Channel. We talked about how The Hillbilly Kitchen got started, the first thing I ever remember cooking, how I met Bret and ended up in Tennessee and lots more stories. I was feeling pretty down one day and I saw that Hillbilly Kitchen sends bibles to those who request them, so I did just that. When I received the bible I said a little prayer to the Lord that I just needed to know He was there, when I opened that bible the first words I saw were "I AM THE LORD" in Isaiah "Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;" I have been comforted by that. Thank you, Becky and Hillybilly Kitchen for bringing hope to many and to myself.

Becky you’re such a soothing balm in my life. I lost my wife in July before you lost Brett in September. I always did a lot of the cooking in our house because I worked shift work and it made sense because my wife worked full time. I would be there before meal time and usually had meals ready when she got home. Now she was a wonderful cook and had her specialties that the family demanded at any get together. We were married 41 years and tomorrow is two years since she passed. Thank you for all you do.

Prayers be with you as you pass this anniversary. I've lost so many of my family that I can relate. The anniversaries come and go as the days do but Jesus gives us the strength to go on with the hole in our hearts where our loved one used to be. He patches that hole like a quilt with love and mercy.

So fun to see two of my favorite RU-vid channel producers together. I found Becky either when I was recovering from hip surgery in early 2020 or maybe I had sent out a search on country style green beans like Mama and Grandma used to make. Don't recall. I found John's channel just a few months ago and love the filming of old general stores. My most requested dish at church functions is Hillbilly Kitchen Macaroni Salad. And Becky, your teaching moments of the Lord is always very special.

I was thinking about Becky today remembering the time I found this channel before her husband passed. I bought your cookbook, have made many many recipes. Even have a lot of your videos saved. I was sewing today and your banana pudding recipe came on while I was watching my favorites video and made me think I wonder if she’s still making videos and so happy you still are!
