By reviving the wisdom from traditional practices, we provide the knowledge on a range of activities which form the model for sustainable and eco-friendly development.
Gaura Grama has been operating for the last twelve years. In our cultural and heritage community, about 10 KMs from Yadagirigutta, we maintain a traditional gurukulam, where the students are not only taught academic subjects but also are trained in high moral values along with many life skills. We provide the students with accommodation and food, free of cost. Also, we conduct various educational programs including techniques of natural farming & cow protection and distribute free food in the surrounding towns and villages such as Aler, Yadagirigutta and Bhongir.
Gaura Gramat aims to train the youngsters in stress management, value education, personality development, character building, overcoming anxieties and fears, handling competition in a constructive manner, avoiding self-destructive habits, rising up from depression etc.,
Our Activities:
*Youth programmes for school and college students - Personality and Character development, infuse Leadership qualities, build self-confidence and inculcate deep respect for our great culture through seminars, group discussions, presentations, inviting guest speakers, cultural events, teachings from ancient wisdom literature and tours to places of culture and heritage.
*Public Programs - Educating the members of the general public regarding the value of following our great Indian culture in order to lead peaceful and happy lives and establish better societies. We conduct weekly programs in the communities throughout the city. Also, we conduct large cultural events and festivals where thousands of people participate joyfully.
*Free Food Distribution- A very important part of our activities is to distribute free food at each and every program in order to fully satisfy the participants and benefit them in terms of physical, mental, intellectual and emotional aspects irrespective of religion, caste, creed or social economic status.
*Goshala -Cow protection - not merely a religious sentiment but a means to secure the highest benefit for human society.
Human society gives protection to the life of human beings but there is no law for protecting the life of the descendants of the Surabhi cow of the spiritual world which can give complete protection to the human beings by supplying the miracle food, Milk.
We must have sufficient pasturing ground to feed the cows and maintain them throughout their life. Prabhupäda often stressed the importance of resting our self-sufficient economy on agriculture and cow protection, or “living as Krishna lived.” Cow protection is essential for a peaceful human society. The cow gives the brain-building miracle food-milk. She is the symbol of religiosity, and milk is liquid religiosity. Even the urine and stool of cows have medicinal value. Many people cannot take to the spiritual life because they are too sinful and their lives too chaotic. If people could be induced to just stop slaughtering the cow, they would be saved from so many, many horrible sinful reactions such as war. We believe that cow protection is not just about protecting cows from slaughter but giving them due respect and love.
*Gurukulam - Training young boys not only in academics but also in self-discipline, high moral values and the traditional Indian culture. This training is inculcated through conducting regular classes, teachings from ancient wisdom kinds of literature, and cultural events such as drama, arts and traditional music.
