For me, cemeteries are an open air archive, one of the most pleasant places to do my research. I have an interest in funerary architecture and stone masonry and whenever I can I will go exploring these places. I will never willingly walk over marked graves, but I appreciate that some remain unmarked for various reasons, whether due to the wishes of the deceased or poverty of the family.
What a beautiful place, so peaceful & tranquil . I’m exactly the same about not walking on graves , it’s just respectful to keep to the grass. Thanks so much for sharing & look forward watching more .
Love you content your a lovely couple a suggestion mick why don't you go to Sheffield cemetery and show us where a few people are buried that uve cared for just a suggestion and tell us a bit about that person etc keep up the good work mate and make sure dave gets is lunch lol you worked hard for what you got people are just jealous much love
Im same as you Michael when i take flowers to my familys graves i walk on the grass between. If when sorting flowers, watering or wiping headstone i find im stood on edge i say sorry to the grave, also if i forget bottle of water for the flowers and a nearby grave has one tucked behind headstone ill say hope ya dont mind ill bring it back. I always put it back full of water, and thank them again. Like u said respect seems to be going out of window in some kids today.
Im 37 ive got my mum and oldest brother in a cemetary near my house, id never walk on anyones grave, so disrespectful, everyone should be treated with respect alive or dead, this world has to much disrespect in it. Hope you and cheryl and syd are well, loving the videos, thankyou for taking the time to make them :)
I have been in ST Michael's Cemetery it,s just down from my mum's dad,s ,also I use to walk through on way to school and back home again, squral,s like it there too I have seen lots.
Have just come across your posts, and they're fab, my chosen career would have been working for a Funeral Directors, but various health issues dictated otherwise. I thought I was weird having always taken an interest in these things, and always making a point of visiting the local Crematorium whenever I was staying in a new location, and in my youth in the 1980s my interests were seen as a little odd, to say the least, but your posts are great, if I'm ever in Sheffield again I'll visit St Michael's Cemetery
When you was showing your old clocking in machine that you said come from Sheffield steel is that the Sheffield steel that was on the full monty lol much love
I was looking for a grave about 15 years ago just before it was going dark. Suddenly I didn't feel alone it wasn't a good feeling I can't explain it I was by the Foster plot x
@@MCF155 I think I would have stood just frozen , not knowing what to do whether make a run for it and hope it just disappeared,. Omg! I would have been petrified X 👍
@@MCF155 Yes you are right my mom used to say the same , I'm not scared of the dead she used to say it's the living that can hurt you .. I think you and Cheryl should do Ghost 👻 tours of the spookiest places in Sheffield ..I'm sure people would like it , even out of the mystery that surrounds it all .I'm enjoying your volggs they are very interesting .X 👍
I never knew this cemetery existed , it's only small and it looks like there are lots more spaces , who owns it and looks after it Michael any idea .? And are only Catholic people that can be laid to rest there ?
It's full love. Yes it's a Catholic burial ground. It's a private cemetery owned by the church. Although you can't see a lot of the headstones there are still graves there the headstones was removed for safety x
