Those red page edges 😯 love it! Very “old school” looking Bible. Makes me think of the ones I saw at my aunts n uncles houses as a kid. Seems like they all had a red paged Bible on their shelf. Praying you’re feeling better 😷 it was awesome to wake up to not one but 2 videos from the best Bible reviewer on all of RU-vid 💜 love these visual tour videos. Super relaxing and calming.

It is indeed a very old school looking Bible. It looks a lot like a 1962 Bible that I have. The red page edges are sticking together so this is one of those Bibles that you're going to have to flip through and detach a lot of pages, but when you're done it really does have a vintage look to it. It also lays open easily on page 1. The cover is very soft. The paper is very soft. They've done a very good job on it, and the KJV comfort print is the icing on the cake. It looks vintage itself. I think Thomas Nelson has stumbled on something here: You don't really need gilding on the pages. The red works perfectly.

Now this looks like a great reader: large 11.5 font , thinline size, genuine leather, and some nice color maps in the back too!

That's a really nice Bible and the red stained page edges are very beautiful. I love it. The Bible mill is churning out a lot of Bibles and the look real awesome. It's like a contest to see which is prettier. Like a beauty contest, except for Bibles and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan has a lot of entries in this context.

I had to get this. So I ordered it from Amazon and it came yesterday. It does look and feel fantastic, but I'm noticing that the genuine leather does not feel that much different from their more premium leathersoft. I was shocked. I had no idea that leathersoft had gotten so close to actual leather. Although I do believe this is something like pig skin. For anyone who is considering this, it is a lovely reader. It lays open perfectly. The paper is surprisingly opaque and it's very soft to the touch. The text isn't line matched but it doesn't really need to be (And really, it plays into the vintage theme more). The only issue I have with mine is that the first page of maps in the back doesn't seem to be sewn super securely. I wonder if they rushed these out of the door. Memo to Thomas Nelson: If they take this design aesthetic and make a KJV in a personal size, with the red page edges and the drop caps of the sovereign collection (or perhaps not, because a clean text would work too), they will have an absolute home run and probably the most perfect vintage-styled KJV reader on the market.

I completely agree with you on the leather, I almost prefer some of the new leathersoft covers to the genuine leather because they really have come a long way as far as imitation leather goes. On the maps section I would take some photos of it and email it to Thomas Nelson using the "contact us" link on their website. They have a warranty form that they can give you to fill out and send it to them along with the Bible and they will send you a replacement. I have had to have a few Bibles replaced under warranty in the past and they are always very good about it but you will have to send that one in along with that form and I would ship it with tracking so you know that they received it and then you can follow up a week or so after it shows it was received. They have excellent customer service. I like the vintage look of this Bible along with the Sovereign Collection one. They're doing a great job with their new editions.
