This week we showed up at Sharon's house in Iona after somebody sent us this message:
Last Tuesday (Sharon) had to put down her sweet dog Gordi, her beloved doxie. The following morning her husband fell and passed away. This poor lady has had to endure so much in such a short time period is grieving like no person should ever have to. She is such a giving person and always available for anyone in need. Right now I would do anything to just see her smile and know that others care about her just as much as she does them.
We knew we had to visit Sharon and spread a little love. What we didn't know is that we showed up on her 58th wedding anniversary.

You can tell she is a special lady. To keep smiling and joking despite the obvious pain. I’m sure she has lifted up a lot of people in her life over the years.

I agree, this dog is rescuing her sanity and will keep her from being lonely. I truly think divine intervention put this dog at the rescue center just for her.

I live in SW Idaho. I can assure you, ALL Native Idahoans are the kindest, sweetest, funniest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I moved here 6 years ago. Can’t imagine living in any other state.

This is devastation to hear and put into perspective how unpredictable life is we should all take notice that she can still smile and find humor & be so kind through this immense pain she must be feeling. My great Aunt is 104 yrs old and lost her husband many many years ago (before I was born I'm 39yrs old) and is absolutely full of life, this beautiful lady is the same I sense she will enjoy many more happy years to come

My daughter's husband died of Covid the day before we had a Cat 4 hurricane in south La. Kristin had to put down her precious dog, Luther. Her heart is broken. Thanks for a beautiful gift of love in your area

Dachshunds are the one of the longest living breeds we volunteer at a Dachshund rescue and this past summer we had to put down a permanent rescue at the rescue this dog Woody was too dangerous to adopt out to people but he lived a great long life on the farm and he got to keep all the the wild animals away from the farm and protect the the farm animals and he lived to be 21 years old

Well, this lady obviously still has a sense of humor, so that's wonderful. I'm glad she is getting another doggie; I'm sure she will definitely bring lots of cheer and keep this beautiful lady busy. This happened to my grandma. Her husband my grandpa passed away and I believe within a few days their poodle which was either 20 years old or just shy of 20 passed away. That dog was my grandpa’s shadow. Followed him everywhere.

@@mommadee9128 I was thinking the same thing. I just lost a BIL to a blood clot that went to his lung and sounds similar to this. He had just had carpal tunnel surgery.
