So glad to see your video, it’s been awhile. I use the vinyl numbers to separate my students as well. I also did the rainbow colors. It does help with contact tracing. Happy Thanksgiving.

I have a reading. A-Z membership and print off books for the kids to take home. That way I don’t have to worry about getting my readers back!

We did the same thing for the class pictures they like put the kids full standings pictures Together so it looks like they're all standing next to each other. It turned out pretty good actually but they had me stand up as well with my hands down like the kids, not sure how they're gonna photo shop u in there sitting lol 🤣🤔

So happy to see a new video :) I have a few questions for you, and appreciate you taking the time to read and/or answer any of them! How long is your reading block? How many small groups are you able to see a day? About how long is each group? Thank you for sharing!

Hi, Leticia! Our full ELA block lasts 135 minutes: 30 minutes phonics, 30 minutes read-aloud (vocabulary & comprehension), 45 minutes centers/small groups, 30 minutes writing. I see two small groups a day for 15 minutes each. With my 5 groups, that means I see each group twice/week. 😊

Leticia Angel Of course! Yes, the high frequency words are embedded in our phonics curriculum (Fundations by Wilson Language). We typically learn a few new words each week and use orthographic mapping to dissect which components of the word are irregular and which we need to learn “by heart”. We drill the previously learned words as a warm up. 😊

Small group - so that I can meet each student where they are at and differentiate. Our whole group phonics is Fundations by Wilson Language.

I've tried a few different acronyms for independent reading time, but the one I'm using this year is my new favorite: OTTER. Our Time To Enjoy Reading. Sometimes I project a pic of an otter holding a book while the kids are reading. :) The kids love it.
