I love your realistic talk about using research based curriculum and supplementing with TpT when you feel necessary!! Thanks for keeping this channel real. 💓
I really don't understand the whole jeans thing. I'm a Portuguese teacher and it is unimaginable for us to have such a rule. Of course we do not wear weird clothes to go to school, but it is all left to our common sense. But, more importantly, loved your ideas.
I'm doing the same thing as you regarding my new curriculum. I want to see what it's all about and will improve later for next year. I'm also always behind on grading. Love your content!
I love your videos. FYI, my custodians are used to seeing me after school. I have absolutely no problem printing. I like to prepare ahead. It makes my week way less stressful than my colleagues.😊🥰
We use Imagine Language and Literacy and my kids love it! I know there's an Imagine Reading as well, but K-2 in my district don't use it. I also appreciated you mentioning how you're using your own district's curricular resources for your activities. In my district we are not allowed to supplement things unless we discuss it with our admin/Instructional Coach, and I'm betting we're not alone in this. I think too many new teachers see all this "fun" stuff that others are doing and gravitate towards that and it can get them in trouble if they're not using what their district wants them to use!
My class has loved Imagine Learning so much already! I’m so excited for them to have that access - I hope we’ll have classroom licenses next year as well. Kudos to teachers who are able & allowed to create such awesome supplemental resources, but we’re in this curriculum grind together! 💖
I don’t know if your school does breakfast in the classroom, but I would grade all the work from the previous day while my kids ate breakfast. Then on the Sunday I would input it all into my grade book. Just a thought! Or if you’re not actively engaged with them while they’re doing that iPad time you mentioned, you could knock out the previous days grading then!
It’s so funny you said you don’t like to make copies after school! I am the opposite. I wait until I KNOW no one will be there 😂 I usually make copies for a whole unit at once though so I’m in their commandeering the machine for a long time and don’t like thinking that someone might come in wanting to use the copier
Mine is from North Face and I can’t find the same one anymore, but Patagonia’s “Better Sweater” is super similar: www.patagonia.com/product/womens-better-sweater-fleece-jacket/25543.html
We ended up trying it for the first time in whole group so that they could all do the placement test together (except my ELLs) and let me tell you I could NOT get them off. They loved it!!!
@@puttingthemfirst ohh ok I get you. Well Very pretty😊 Wondering on the groups what are some skills they work on when they are hands on and at your seat ….are they game like or worksheets Can there be a video where you discuss/show the process (of course without showing the kiddos) but to get an idea of how you operate them…
