Interesting! My mom taught 1st and 2nd grade in the 70’ and 80’. They were not allowed to have balloons 🎈 in the school k-2 setting because of the choking issues with balloons. Thank you for your service, children are our present and our future and they all deserve such a caring person as you!

Hi Lauren! We were so blessed this year - with teacher burnout, sub shortages...our union and district negotiated a week for Thanksgiving---Monday was a PD day, Tuesday a paid teacher mental health day and then Wed. - Fri. off for Thanksgiving. Typically we work Mon/Tues, off Wed-Mon with Monday being a PD day...It has been amazing!! We do have Monday as a regular student contact day. Still did some work, but in the comfort of home...feel very refreshed going into our next 3 week stretch!

I love that you have the freedom to do activities like that. We don’t and it’s so disappointing! I swear it’s all serious work, no fun. I’m hoping to find a position at a new school next year that isn’t so strict and micromanaged. Hope you had a great thanksgiving and enjoyed your visit from your parents!

For “circus day” at the end of last year, I blew up a class set of looong balloons and learned how to make balloon animals. Haha I was dying by the end. 😂
