After 8 months of being in Hot Sunny Sri Lanka, Kristina and I were both really missing winter and had thought about leaving Sri Lanka to go to Europe for the cold winter. However, we discovered an easier alternative, which was just a 6 hour train ride from Colombo to the hilly town of Nuwara Eliya. There a little community named The Little England Cottages has been built in the traditional English style. With cold weather, going down to just 12c/53.6f, foggy mist, and wind we really felt like we were in the south of England in a traditional cottage, having hot tea near the wood burning fire.
