Hey guys! This week I tried to show what a typical week looks like up at Cerro Gordo these days.
It's coming up on two years I've been living up here and life is definitely a lot different than before. I spend most days restoring old buildings, exploring abandoned mines, and enjoying natures.
In this video, I start a cabin rebuild, continue progress on the American Hotel, check out some new mines, and much more!
Thank you all so so much for all the support for this channel. It's been amazing to see people from all over helping support this old mining town. If you haven't already, I hope you'll consider subscribing to the channel for more.

I love the occasional "whats that door opening and closing" - uh duh - ITS A GHOST TOWN. This channel is a literary and literal "documentary" masterpiece - and the meta commentary on what a documentary is, how the historicity of everything affects the telling of the stories over time, really is a binding reinforcing element throughout this series. Brilliant. I'm a huge fan.

I always love the subtle nuances of each of his videos. For example, how he always includes at least one shot of his drone crashing into something… the fact that the haunted footsteps and ghosts slamming doors during his monologue are just “minor inconveniences”… the absent audio from a clip, him sneaking past visitors to run to the $#!+house…. It’s a very intimate and raw look into his life. Privacy’s priceless, but Brent forgoes it for OUR sake. A week in the life, how fantastic. Never edit out the quirks and hiccups of your daily life. There’s something to these videos that can’t quite be described in words, but it seems to be working well. Keep it up, Brother. You’re an inspiration to many of us.

If the window is open, the curtains moving would indicate air movement. Air movement can be strong enough to make doors swing and sometimes slam. Happens in my house all the time. My garage door is on spring closers but the air pressure (?) in the house is strong enough to hold it open about a foot on some days, and slam it on others. Or... it was Casper looking for (your favorite Halloween candy here.).

Brent, I recommend getting some oats to make oatmeal with brown sugar. Oats pack a lot of energy that burns slowly and gives you energy through the day. And the brown sugar gives you a little kick to start the day. Both ingredients hold for a long time, and you can buy them in bulk. I was always the skinny kid in school, so I know how it is. This was a change in my diet that helped a lot to get me to a healthy weight. I always feel so full of energy after a hearty breakfast with eggs, coffee and oatmeal. Sincerely, the skinny kid
@m.o.x
@m.o.x 2 года назад
Also, the sugar spikes the insulin so the body takes up more of the energy. That way your body absorbs more of your breakfast to keep you fueled through the day

Brent; some treasure finding tips you may or may not already thought of. First, you shared that levis were once found in the cellar of a long gone building, which gave me a thought; look at your old photographs of the town for visable side access cellar doors on long gone buildings, or identify those long gone buildings that likely might have haf a celler due to their function. Also that method could be applied to finding the best locations for your bottle dumps and other treaure hoards. Look at the antique pics, identify those areas that will produce the most likely results, and start digging. Also, sad but a reality of history, in times past, the chinese laborers were usually given the most dangerous jobs, dynamite, ect... and also usually made to have a seperate camp or housing away from the general work force. They would typically store their pay in coins in old mason jars, as well as coffee cans, and then bury them near their camp, sometimes never to return for them as a result of the dangerous jobs they were doing. Locate the camp or dwelling area of those workers and bring your metal detector. A side note; the chinese laborers inthose bygone times, were some of the hardest working folks, and are credited with much of the infrustructure such ad tunnels, that we see today. Great content as usual, thanks for sharing.

The bacteria does up to 30% of the food production for the plant. It's like having free employees in your dirt. The fertilizer also has this same beneficial bacteria in it. Great video. Looks like a Matt's Off-Road Recovery rope investment is due. It's a specialized rope made by Yankum Ropes that stretches around 30% under max load. That lets you get a little running start to build momentum then the rope stretches to absorb the shock of the pull. Pricey for a rope but it does an amazing job and it would help support a RU-vidr who rescues people from sketchy situations on a regular basis.

The opportunity never materialized to own such a place but I've visited many, some in Idaho, some in BC and many in AZ. Now, due to circumstances beyond my control, I'm stuck in a place I don't like or want to stay in. Mostly due to heath issues that are fixable but painstaking and expensive. So I really appreciate people who put interesting stuff like this on line. Thank you. See ya next time.
