This is my first time watching your channel. First of all, I want to preface this by saying my daughter was born early, at 24 weeks to be exact. She was born with grade two and three brain bleeds that affected her gross and fine motor skills. She is now 6. The first three years were extremely challenging to say the least. She did everything much later than other kids, from talking to crawling to walking to being able to grasp things. It was nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists that helped her to live. But it was a teacher just like you, who lit up at the thought of her students, and was so passionate about teaching , that helped her learn allll the things I mentioned and helped her to thrive and be one of the smartest kids in her class. So from a mother who has seen first hand what a blessing teachers are, both in our children’s lives and our own, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for everything you do, from lesson plans to skipping your lunch to attend an IEP. You are an amazing teacher and the work you do is truly gods work. God bless you🙏🏽 hugs from Southern California ☀️

Try 5 or more raise the score, 4 or less take a rest. That’s what I learned in my school and it’s still stuck in my head and it’s really easy to remember
@PocketfulofPrimary
@PocketfulofPrimary 5 лет назад
It is easy to remember, but it doesn't help students understand WHY the number rounds up or down. I want to emphasize the "why" and the reasoning with my students so they develop a deeper understanding of the mathematical concepts.

It cracks me up how you said this was a "boring" or "not creative" week... I couldn't disagree with that statement more. I loved how you jazzed up your rounding lesson with the ninjas and kung fu music. I also loved the brain activity for science. You're an amazing teacher. I'm in my 11th year of teaching and now have two young children at home (a one-year-old and a three-year-old). It's difficult to find a balance between school and home. I often feel frustrated that I can't always give as much of myself to my career as I did when I was "young and single"... lol. Your vlogs inspire me to continue putting in that extra effort to make my lessons fun and fresh. Thanks, Michelle!

I really like your data tracker idea. Will definitely be using it for my students as second quarter begins! Also, I appreciate your vulnerability at the end of the vlog. The biggest frustration that I'm facing is the feeling that I am inferior to the "Super Teachers" that I have on my team. I need to be reminded all teachers have moments (and days) of stress and overwhelm, just like me.

I totally sympathize with the sickness. I've been dealing with a cold this past week - sore throat, runny nose, loss of voice - and still some of it is sticking around a week later, so I totally understand feeling dragged and needing that extra coffee run. Hopefully you're feeling better :)

Hi, Michelle! Could you make a video about IEP meetings and what it’s like from a teacher’s perspective? I’m an elementary ed major and I’m in a class about learning disabilities and teaching students with learning disabilities. We talked about IEPs for one class but didn’t get to go in depth that much. I would just love to see what your perspective on the meetings and the system is!

Hello Michelle! I have viewed all your videos and found them truly inspirational and informative, as I am a 4th grade math teacher from Texas that continue to look for ideas that will help my babies. I have never commented to any of your videos but today I had to. You brought up that when anyone Googles you your school name pops up also. So today I happened to Google you had the greatest laugh. Did you know that they have you as a 45 year old Japanese actress? With your picture and all. I just thought you might get a laugh out of it. Please continue to make your videos. You don't realize all the people you touch. We get so much inspiration from you and the awesome (but time consuming) work you do!!!!!!

Hey! First off, LOVE your channel. I was stumbling around RU-vid looking for videos about a day in the life of Early Ed vs Secondary Ed. Then I saw your P.O. Box is in Gambrills! SHOUT OUT! I graduated from Arundel Middle and High! I lived in Gambrills for 10 years! What a small world! Anyways I am finally following my dreams in becoming a teacher and my family all say Early Ed (but they are also the ones who influenced me not to follow through on teaching in the first place) but I have this pull for Secondary Ed Social Studies. I don't know, but I loved your video!

Hi Michelle! I have to say, I’ve been binging your videos. I taught Kindergarten and was a first year teacher starting halfway through the school year. I felt completely in over my head. I ended up leaving prior to the following school year to pursue my master’s in instructional design. When I watch your videos, I find myself missing the classroom. I know I had the potential to be so great, I was in a bad place mentally and the stress was just too much. I just accepted an instructional design/curriculum development position to see if that helps to fill this void. I really enjoyed creating materials and the behind the scenes work. Maybe this will be a better fit for me...and maybe one day I will want to venture back into my own classroom. For now, I’ll live vicariously through you lol.

Hi! I just wanted to comment to say 1. I really enjoy your classroom videos as I am becoming a High School teacher in Austria soon enough :) so thank you for the inspiration! and 2. I wanted to ask you if there might be any chance to use a reusable cup for your coffee runs? :) I know in the US it is quite common to use those plastic take out cups, but I am very passionate about reducing our plastic waste so I wanted to just maybe be an inspiration as well in order to save our planet! Please don't take this the wrong way, I just wanted to give you an idea to reduce your waste but still enjoy the well deserved coffee :)) bis hugs from Vienna!
