Imagine using conductive mallet with lightning breath: 12 damage to the target, 8 damage to its neighbors, and 4 damage to those two away from the target. Now that’s a meteor on steroids

I feel like bottom cards of the week would turn into a wall of shame style video series. The top cards of the week already has enough space to pick apart the more interestingly outrageous cards when they pop up, and in most situations its helpful to see how people have broken the mold rather than stumbled.

You could fix The Legionnaire by, ironically, making the effect a “When drawn” effect like Flame Leviathan. RIP start of game I guess.

I really like Mana Bubble, it’s such a perfect idea. It really seems like a card that would be printed.

My thoughts on the cards: Angry bot: Couldn't you essentially think of it as a 1/6 mech with windfury (maybe slightly weaker)? If you are trading with it, it might take 2 hits to kill the thing you are attacking, thereby dealing and taking twice the damage, and it also effectively doubles any attack buffs it gets. Untrained Noble: Instead of pushing it by lowering the mana cost to 4, I think it could be flavourful and effective to give it rush. That gives it some immediacy if you need the armor/weapon right then, and the flavor could be that the noble is eager to go show off.

I have an idea for a "Ripped Off!" Rework: 3 Mana Rogue Spell Name: Aggressive Bargaining Effect: Add 2 Coins to your hand. *Combo*: Add 3 Coins instead.

Haven't thought that my card will get the spot in your video. Thanks man! Also, about this card: I thought that coins are a bit strong especially when Preparation and Edwin are still around. Also, reserving mana for the next turn with no additional downsides or requirements can be also too much. But I haven't played the game for a while, so maybe I didn't realise how powercrept cards and meta became. Edit: Also I remembered a Witchwood Epic card "Wanted!" that costed 4 mana, dealt 3 damage to a minion and gave you only 1 coin only if you killed a minion. Still, the card saw some play in combo/OTK decks. "Ripped Off!" is way more valuable for those kinds of decks.

Ultimately, whether the card is good or bad, as long as you have something interesting to say about it, that would be the determining factor in whether you highlight it or not.

what if the 1/1 harbingers were summoned dormant 7:40 (so they only start working after 2 turns) taking 3 spaces from your opponent on turn 1, 2 and 3 probably doesn't mean much except when they are running a zoo deck in which case they might have a full board,

Imagine turn 2 backstab, stash away, coin, coin, coin, 12/12 Edwin... I would suggest the card be printed 2 mana, "add 2 coins to your hand at the end of your turn".

Angry bot seems really strong in priest. Imagine turn 2 slam him down, turn 3 you power word shield, divine spirit then topsy turvy. Or just do that at any time really. 32 damage instantly in a 2 turn kill, insane

Minor thought on Conductive Mallet, excluding the cards for current standard, i.e. even if it was printed in future or past formats, you still have synergy with stuff like Blessing of Kings in Paladin.

bottom cards of the week is also really cool, you explaining why you think the design is bad or unusable is interesting, and if anyone watches these and makes custom cards, if they feel like it, they can temper their designs with your ideas/knowledge in mind

Ripped off was my favorite of this week - I'd actually like to see this printed, all the experimentation would be pretty interesting

Seeing some "cool" cards with design or balance flaws can be interesting too, especially since you explain in detail what the flaw is, and offer alternatives. Sometimes cards are unbalanced because they are supposed to be there for a fun meme, or a reference of a story, but would never be actually in the game, those are fun to see too. Just hit me up with more customs!

Legionnaire balance change: the Harbingers are 1-1 taunt, can't attack, and the card can stay the same with summoning 3, a control DH can clear with aoe whenever he wants, and control dh isnt really a big thing also.

2:20 I don't know if you saw any of the comments under that card pointing out you could get a 12/12 body on board on turn one if you go second, or a 18/18 on turn 2. Turn 1 12/12: Preparation, Ripped Off, Coin, Coin, Coin, Edwin Van Cleef. Turn 2 18/18: Prep, Ripped Off, Prep, Ripped Off, Coin x 4, Edwin very niche circumstance, but any kind of spell based coin generation is dangerous once you remember prep is a thing

I really like the Untrained Noble. I had a thought, if you keep it at 5 mana but give it Rush. Think about it, he's a noble. He has the best gear, he's on his *high horse* and he thinks he's hot shit. He rushes into battle, without tactics and without thinking, only to die miserably. Therefore, he pops in with a small 2 damage to a creature, but if that creature isn't strong enough to fell him in 1 turn then that dormancy comes into play. I think giving him Rush is not only extremely in character for the card, but is exactly the balance it would need in order to let it be a very viable and fun card.

3:55 and the fact that they cast spell on minions. It's a very flavourfull and versatile card, because Chaman target enemy minions, and Paladin target it's own ones. it should be a dual class.

The fun thingis Magatha Grimtotem could summon the 4 totems when using a DK hero power for example

Glad you liked 'Calling for Help/I Need a Hero' (you're right on the name change). As a main Paladin player I really liked the flavor of calling legendary heroes on desperate times and also pushing spell Paladin decks :) PS: I didn't know Bottom Cards of the Week was a thing. Where can I learn about them?

Angry bot will be an OP card for Priest... Turn 2: Angry bot. Turn 3: Power Word: Shield, Divine Spirit, Inner Fire - hit face for 32... I dont think it should get 5 stars for balance...

Conductive mallet is a good duel class card bc it works with all the paladin buffs!

I think mana bubble is a little scary still though especially in the likes of shaman who has quite a few tempo based spells that would be quite a bit stronger coming down a turn, or two, earlier. Mana Bubble simply existing means strong 4 mana spells just can't exist for either class since Mana Bubble on 1 into a 4 mana spell on 2 (after potentially trading) is absurd tempo. Even simply getting a 1 mana discount on something like Feral Spirits or Serpentshrine Portal (since you would play them on turn 2 and not 3) can snowball out of control. Or perhaps the "dream" hand of bubble on 1 into Tour Guide+Reflection on 2.

Angry Bot is basically just a 2 mana 2/3 Windfury that has to attack the same target twice. I think that's pretty balanced.

I think a coin based rogue could be really fun thematically, seems appropriate for combo shenanigans. My only concern is when they go second they get a huge buff if there's coin pay off in the deck. Anyone got any suggestions? I think the opening hand coin is called "the coin" and the created ones are "coin" could be wrong though...

Angry bot played turn 1/2 Turn 2 double health or inner fire. (Deal casual 12 damage to face turn 2.) Turn 3 : double heath + inner fire. Deal casual 24 to face. I'm not so sure that would be super fun haha

7:00 What about instead of the 3 1/1s summoned at start of game, it were "when you draw this card" instead? Keeps the flavor, I know it's not a great balance still but it would probably work out better than start of game.

In my opinion the legionnaire can be balanced by giving it the same effect but instead of start of game give it when drawn

I think the bigger problem with Angry Bot is probably health priest. It's kind of terrifying with Inner Fire.

For The Legionnaire, I wonder if "When you draw this, summon three 1/1 Harbingers for your opponent" could be an interesting way to go about it.

Magatha Grimtotem might be really good in quest shaman. You just play her on turn 6, and on turn 7 play heropower +Windshear Stormcaller. (this would of course only work if you had a way to kill Magatha)

Inner fire angry bot turn 3 for 12 damage swing, for 3 mana

The difference between magatha and totem goliath is that the goliath can be denied. Even without silence, as long as they pop it on their turn, they can easily remove the small totems. As such, it doesn't have as strong of a combo potential. Magatha, on the other hand, allow you to always have 4 totem on demand, to do whatever it is that you want. And if you play the 1 mana card that make your next hero power free the turn before, then you have 0 mana all 4 totem on demand for a lot of combo potential. The other good thing is that you don't have to use the hero power as soon as possible. Instead, it present a constant threat of sudden semi-full board. This might force your opponent to clear your board more vigorously than normal, in fear of sudden full board+mass buff. I'd say 5 mana would actually be too powerful here, 6 mana is totally fine.

Here's my idea for Legionnaire: Make it a 4 mana 7/7 demon, Rush, Lifesteal, Taunt as a Quest reward. And the Quest itself would be a task of summoning 4 minions for your opponent. There are two cards that i can think of that summon minions for your opponent in standard - MAAAAGTHERIDON and Zul'Drak Ritualist, both of which summon 3 at a time. Which means that you'll have to hinder your deck by playing those normally considered bad cards that would take spots of normally considered good cards while also slightly lowering DH's early game options by forcing a 1 mana spell that does nothing into a starting hand.

You forgot to mention that mana bubble is an elemental, which is easy to take advantage of by mages and shamans.

Angry Bot plus the priest increase health and then attack equals health buff. Then it’s a potentially 24 24 that deals double damage.

I think the appeal of this series is Trump talking about the reasons good cards are good and bad cards are bad, so bad cards of the week would be pretty interesting to watch.

I really wish coin rogue was a thing. I dont want it ridiculously op, there should be more thought put into drawbacks when you backload coins, but it sounds so fun regardless

Considering we have Wandmaker and Cobalt Spellkin in the game, that first Paladin spell seems insanely overpowered. The amount of times you could pull that off in a single game is disgusting :>

I think Budget Builder was written off too soon, especially on the design front. I could see a card that gives you a benefit if you don't have any legendary (and possibly epics) cards in your deck. That isn't inherently bad design.

Mana Bubble makes OTK Shaman even better, hit both bubbles with Thaurissan, boom, with double lightning bloom, double elemental, you get 8 after Malthus on turn 9 (if god draw is achieved)

Idk about untrained noble. It would probably be a bit too weak for 5 mana, but buffing it to 4 seems a bit too much. I mean 4 mana 4/2 weapon which gives you 8 armor would probably be just fine, but add a 2/4 body on top of that and it might be a bit too much. Great design non the less. The mana bubble on the other hand could literally be printed as shaman card next expansion without any change imo.

Ripped Off is actually really good as is. You said yourself that coins are almost as good as draw a card. Play it on 3 and play a 6 drop on 4. Prep it out to get a 4 drop on 2 ect. Also happens to be great with Edwin and questing and loads of other rogue cards. At 2 cost the card would be broken.

Wait... magatha grimtotem doesn't say it has to be a certain hero power. You could complete the double battle cry quest, she dies and then next turn click the button that gives all 4 totems and double battle cry and play windshear guy for 2 al' akir turn 7. Kinda neat.

For the legionnaire, what about "when drawn" instead of "Start of Game"

Untrained noble could have rush to fit flavor, he has a horse, but sucks at riding it, thats why he has rush and not charge
