Trying to build the bridge, the right bridge for the situation. I really liked how you mentioned the voice can be a bridge. I will apply this to my life by using a soft (inviting and loving) bridge when speaking to my future children.
I think Chum Kiu is a term that has been named for 3, 4 hundreds of years since the finding of Wing Chun, may be it could mean what to do after you are in contact with the bridge (Kiu), instead of to find the bridge, in Wing Chun I don't think it is wise to pursue your opponent's hands. So we're like kind of using nowadays culture to interpret that of many hundreds of years ago. So, if you already have existed relationship with: Friends, employer, classmates, relatives and family, Romans etc. you use the Chum Kiu skills in making use of, or to deal with the situation, that is already in exist, instead of to go find an employer, to find some friends, and then to create some relationship, then to make something out of that..... nevermind, either way don't hurt..
