In this video, I visit the National Trust's Clumber Park and take in the sights around the extensive grounds including the lake. It was a cold day and just a few degrees above freezing. I investigated the history of the manor which once stood proudly facing the lake and how it eventually became a memory. The grounds were requisitioned by the army during WW2 and used for training and the storage of ammunition. It was eventually taken on by the National Trust and offers a wonderful day out for hikers and families. Hiking for Health and Getting Outdoors!

Haha. I thought it may be to do with the fact that one lake is more in shadow but they both seemed to be in direct sun.

I was talking about this yesterday, and came up with loads of theories… perhaps more in shadow during the day, the waters more still and not flowing so easier to freeze etc. thanks for that! It was a great walk ambling in nature and taking in the history. Always good to take a flask but to spot a cafe too. 😀 was cold though 🥶
