Absolutely! Was wild camping last night and must say that a lot of them happened. Lost my hat whilst sleeping in the night, sleeping bag twisted round… 😂
Thanks for watching! I did a Clumber walk video that day with all the history and views. Will be up on the channel over the next couple of days. It’s a lovely place!
@@HikingForHealth1 Was your UL80 one of the original versions Gav, the one's that weighed around 500 grams? I know that Trekology released a second version with heavier material which weighed around 800 grams, as the originals kept going down. I have the second version, but apart from blowing it up at home, I don't think that I've ever used it on a camp (as it has zero insulation). I do remember it being really comfortable due its thickness though.
That sounds like the wider Trekology uL 140 with the pillow. Was tempted to get that as looked v comfortable. But like you say, no insulation and heavy too! Cheaper price though!
@@HikingForHealth1 I did think of getting one of those 140's, IRC they had some kind of foot pump built into it, which put me off lol, so I went with the 80. I think that it's something like 11cm thick, hence why I found it so comfortable.
I've not run out of gas on a camp, but last year I did leave a full cylinder at home! But my worst experience in a tent was at Edale when we were woken by our dog who was sharing the tent with us. She was clearly distressed and had blood pouring from a wound in her throat! Amazingly it turned out that she had been chewing a stick the previous day, her favourite thing, and part of it had stuck in her throat, and worked it's way through to the outside. It makes me ill just thinking about that one. Luckily we got to a vet in Castleton who quickly sorted it out, and the daft dog never did that again :)
I could have carried on… 🤦🏻😂🤣 I used to have these waterproof trousers that had short zips up the side just up the calves and a really annoying mesh inner that always snagged on your boots. I remember it starting to rain heavily once so tried to get them on quickly. Nightmare. Mud everywhere. Tripped over. Got soaked. So next pair had zips right up to the waist. Learnt from my mistake. But all good fun in the metaphorical journey of gear hunting. Haha. All the best Dave! Watched both yours and Steve’s video of your adventure. Looked epic!
here,a a good one you allways leave it till the last second to get out for a wee because your nice and warm in your sleeping bag only for it to snag all the time like you said in the video and you near wee yourself lol classic 🤐
