Wild camping, hiking, gear and adventures. Inversions, sunrises, sunsets and calm. I usually head up to the Peak District for the wonderful views it has to offer.
Currently using a Vango Banshee 300pro or an OEX Bobcat1. They’re both great tents for a budget and have served me well.
Nice video. On mine I use the removable brain as a bear bag in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, to toss up a limb with parachord/carabiner (I also attach the garbage bag knotted off slightly spaced from the carabiner holding the food, so they both get pulled up by the same paracord, but not touch when hanging). So logically, the removable "brain" is where I keep my food when it travels as well (bonus food is much less likely to get crushed). First aid kit goes in the front pouch: fastest possible access, and immediately visible to any others if you send them to fetch it because you are incapacitated, or even if they look for it on their own because you are unconscious -Cheers
Lovely video gav. Funnily enough my next video was filmed during the Germany / Denmark game too. Similar weather too. Love seeing the area your from, makes a change from Scotland. ATVB Robert
It’s certainly very relaxing when you’re all settled and sorted. Could have done with another hour possibly to get set up with everything. It was a bit action stations. Thanks for watching Katie. 🏕️🙂
Hi Sylvia, it was just what was needed. I could have done with an extra hour after setting up before the rain came but it is what it is and all that. Hehe. Thanks for watching - very much appreciated
Hi Phil, I do like a hike in, but sometimes it’s nice to get to the camp pretty quickly if you’re in a bit of a rush. Depends on the situation. Thanks for watching. We’ll have to get some of us together for a group camp sometime.
Haha. Was that you? Two bivvi bags? That was the original destination but thought it would probably be taken with it being a Saturday. Shame about the rain but the morning was 👌🏻 ☀️
It’s always a pleasure to watch one of your camping vids Gav, really nice. Please excuse me for not getting around to watching your day walk trips. ATB 🍺
Thanks for watching Dave! It was good to get out; shame about the rain when I got to the pitch but in it for all weathers eh. No worries at all, both recent hikes centred around Roman history. All the best!
Sorry to hear that; hope things start to improve for you. Same here but taking one day at a time and the outdoors certainly help. Take care and all the best.
That gate! 🤦🏻 With a backpack on there was no way I was getting through it. Prob also even if I didn’t have the backpack! 😂 Ah well, always good to climb a gate. Keeps you feeling young 🙂
You couldn't have picked a better time to post this sir. I've had a pretty pants week at work and I came home tonight to find this. Really lifted my spirits ready to enjoy my long weekend off Thank You Gav.
Hi, it was filmed about 10 months ago so the deal may have changed by then. It was 14.09.23 in the comments 🙂 Hopefully it will go down a bit in another sale. Hope the review helped. The boil time would have been faster if I’d have left the lid on too 🤦🏻🙂
Hi Gavin, nice weather you got for the hike and that 87 year old lady was the star, like you love walking on my own and making the vids, have walked all them footpaths many times and you showcased them well, agree with all your 10 reasons to go hiking, theres plenty of great like minded people in the Lincolnshire hiking buddies group, so if you fancy a group walk click on going its a good craic, lovely vid cheers nigel
Hi there, thank you, i loved this video, the valley is gorgeous and your calm way of explaining the wonderful history is engaging. Looking forward to the next adventure, best wishes from winter in New Zealand
Thank you! Yes, it’s been a warm week. I do remember visiting NZealand in the February of 2006 and arrived when it was your summer. What a contrast to February in the UK. Great memories of a super trip. Thanks for watching! 😀
@@HikingForHealth1 very well thanks, I was thinking of you when I crossed from the northern edge to Edale Moor trig and had to get to ringing Roger... Follow the wire fence! Thanks once again. Great camp on RR, and had a phone call at 1am to say my fourth grandchild had just been born! Life is good!
Haha. It was a good deal. Must admit though it’s a cracking little stove for the price. I’ve got the Jetboil Minimo and that would be my preference but the Heiro is great as a back up.
My nan and grandad lived in Gamekeepers cottage he was the gamekeeper as was I think 4 generations before him. He's is buried at St Margaret Church.. I grew up playing at both tennyson house and Harrington Hall.. That was lovely to watch and great memories growing up there at my nan and grandads..George Gilbert..rip.❤
Thanks for watching and great to know all that about the history. It must have been great playing at all those historical places when you were younger. 🙂
Great video Gav. I love this route, one of my favourites in the wolds along with the Nettleton walk (In ore of our past). Also love the Belchford walk - In the shadow of juicetrump. The wolds are such a hidden gem for hiking. I have also managed to get to the tri point, it is buried in a hedge! I got one of my favourite drone shots near by.
Thanks Chris. It’s great especially at this time of the year when everything seems to come alive and the colours pop. I wondered where that trig was and figured it was either in the hedge or just on the other side. Shame really. Would be much better if it was in an area where you could see it. We don’t have many trigs in the Wolds. All the best!
Such A beautiful video gav I loved this one so relaxing to watch and I loved all the historical facts you included too. Keep up the amazing content and il see you very soon
