In fishing, it always pays to constantly evaluate your approach and ring the changes when needed. On the other hand, we find ourselves taking a different approach, purely for the sake of doing something different, and although this can sometimes provide a welcome change to what can often seem a very repetitive process, it isn’t always the best way to maximise our catch rates.
Chapter 7 of ‘A Winter’s Tale’ provides a perfect example of each of these situations, with the day ending with one of the best results of our 22/23 pursuit of that 3lb fish on one hand, and complete frustration and disappointment on the other.
