The majority of our recent fishing has centred around our persevering determination to put a 3lb Grayling in the net, and in all fairness, the resulting sport has been nothing short of sublime. Conditions have often been challenging and on the odd occasion we have perhaps made it more difficult for ourselves than it need be, but every session on the magical River Nith has produced stunning examples of theses iconic fish; most of which being well over the 2lbs mark.
Chapter 6 of ‘A Winter’s Tale’ sees this determination continue, but on this occasion a low, clear and very cold river may just produce the stumbling block that we’ve so far managed to avoid. However, we’ve never been one to back down from a challenge, so the bid to exceed our previous best of 2lbs 13oz continues.

Great video and awesome drone footage to say the least guys, wish i could go fishing as much as you pair do lol. Tell me please, how do you put in all the time fishing, and manage to do the drone footage as well, any tips on how you do it would be much appreciated guys. All in all you guys should be offered a spot on the TV, as the work you put in, is relentless and the conditions you fish in is not for the faint hearted. Thanks for sharing and tight lines Peter.

Peter you a far to kind with these comments, but thank you it's appreciated.🎩👌. There's an element of planning, winging it and sometimes a little luck if I'm honest. The drone footage is by far the most stressful, drones, trees n water isn't really a good combination, with that said, I only really fly it for 25 minutes each trip. Maybe use a 2nd battery in the summer as the sessions are longer. When the conditions suit, fly it, I've made a plan before, and then the weather turns n I can't fly it, we miss out, so always fly it as soon as the rain is off and the wind allows. Hope this answers your question and again, thank you for the support. Cheers G 🎩👌🤝

Really enjoyed the video, along with some beautiful fish and surroundings, thanks so much for sharing your exploits. I`m looking at planning a trip up to fish the Nith, have been going to do it for a while, but health issues have held me back over the past few years, but i`m determined to get something sorted for this year, could let me know which stretch you were fishing? As i would be coming up for a few days, looking for a place to stay and doing some lovely grayling fishing. Thanks for any help you can give me, and i hope you fulfill your quest for the magical 3lb fish. Tight lines lads.

Fantastically shot content and what amazing fish. I'm a coarse anger and would like to fish the river with bait ... what are the restrictions on this i.e. time of year, location and/club running the stretch?

Thank you mate........You will find everything you need to know on Fishpal website, each beat is owned by a different land owner, and times, methods etc can vary slightly.
