The very well-informed points you made about the soap and the process of saponification just goes to highlight how lucky we are with the care that artisan producers put into their products.

Thank you Andy. A very traditional brush but I was pleased with how the copper coloured lettering came out. Take care. my friend.

A British soap debut sounds very exciting indeed, mate. I would like to add that I can't think of many better people to be given the honour. Wishing you and your mum good health and a great weekend.

Great shave, only used the Gillette Tech aluminium which I enjoy. Looking forward to the aluminium razor comparison series. Keep well Mark and enjoy a safe weekend: warm weather hopefully lol

I'll have to buy some aluminium razors first, which means I'll have to sell some stuff 😭

I just purchased a Timeless Aluminum Slant razor and I had my first shave with it today. It was wonderful! It was mild yet very efficient. I would highly recommend it!

Thanks for sharing, Chris. You are not the only person to mention this razor. Apparently, it has a slightly negative blade exposure but that seems like a good idea on a slant razor. Cheers.👍

Greetings Mark, my friend from across the pond in the land I once called home. I enjoy watching your videos just before going to sleep. You have a very relaxing manner, and sometimes, you cause me to dream of my time in England. I can’t wait to learn about this new British Made Shaving Soap! I’m very excited about this news, and I’ll definitely look into getting a tub (or tube) of it. Blessings to you and yours Mark. Your land will always be part of me… 🇬🇧

Nice shave Mark! Interesting info on soap making byproducts 🤔 Always good to learn something 😎👍 I really like the scalloped head look as well, and Timeless does it well. One aluminum razor I've had my eye on is the Karve Bison. The folks I've seen use it seem to like it alot. Have a good one! Steve

I have been having a look at the Bison and it works out to about £68. I wonder how much postage and customs would be. It does look very good. No British store seems to have it at the moment. Cheers.

Good shave Mark. A good aluminium razor that i enjoy very much is the Goodfellas’ smile Styletto. I have one with a Blue base plate, My shave of the day: Muhle R41 Twist safety razor, Feather DE Blade, Chisel & Hound V22 shaving brush, A&E Cherry Cola shave soap, 2 passes and a few pick-ups, Thayers Lavender witch hazel, Hugo Boss After Shave, Finished it off with Stirling Sharp Dressed Man After shave balm.

Thanks for the info! I shall have a look at the Styletto razor! Your shave of the day, sounds terrific! I might have to have a shave with my Club Cola from Wickham's. I bet Cherry Cola is a nice scented soap. Cheers.

Great shave and hello from the U.S. I have this razor and it gives me a great comfortable shave. I have 4 other Timeless razors including the aluminum slant razor which has a negative blade exposure of .002. It is the only slant that is not too aggressive for me. All of their razors give me a fantastic shave. Have a great weekend. 👍

Hello William, thank you for getting in touch and for your information regarding the Timeless slant razor. Now this is indeed interesting! I have not tried to many razors with a negative blade exposure, they do tend to be a little mild for me, but on a slant razor, it may well be a terrific idea! All the best😀

Stearic acid is typically derived from coconut or palm oil, and sounds nastier than it is. It is essential for having a long lasting, dense, and creamy lather. It's the same whether you get the stearic acid from some sort of tallow, from soy wax, or from pure stearic acid. In my soap, I prefer pure stearic acid, since it seems to give the best results, but you're right about the butters. The butters are beneficial for different reasons, and I find they make all the difference. The problem is that they aren't conducive to lather volume, so you add them, but not in high amounts (3-10% each). That's why most shave soaps have a first ingredient of Stearic acid or potassium tallowate, but I totally agree with you... From the optics of a consumer that knows nothing about these ingredients, stearic acid does not sound as good as cocoa butter. Love the shave with the Timeless! Timeless Slant is my favorite razor at this point!

You know a lot about all of this by the sound of it! Do you make soap yourself, or did you do a bunch of research?

Hi Collette. Thank you, for the interesting information you have passed along. I've picked up a little bit of knowledge, about soap making, along my journey. I did at one time hope to make soap, but I never quite recovered enough from having meningitis to do that. So I stick to my half hour shaving video and try to learn where I can. It keeps me busy enough and is very enjoyable. All the very best to you.

When it comes to Aluminum (Aluminium) razors in my view nothing beats the (medium) AL-13 from Henson Shaving 🇨🇦. However I am still using the “old” design and since it works so well I have not felt tempted to purchase the newer and now current version with the rounded corners so I cannot give an opinion on that. You reviewed the old model about 3 years ago, but perhaps now this new/current (medium) Henson AL-13 model is something for you to review when looking again into Aluminum (Aluminium) razors? Cheers!

That's a good suggestion Tommy. I seem to remember I was so keen on that very slight positive exposure. I have a Henson Razor but it has ++ on the inner cap. I can't remember if it is the old design or not but I may have to bring it out again. Cheers.
