To all those new to videos about NASA. Please do not feed the trolls commenting about fake footage, air bubbles, etc. Remember that all those anti-NASA conspiraturds ARE trolls who do not believe their own BS. They are only interested in spamming and harassment.

This is the most important mission of the human race we have. Shows the selfishness that it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I am a supplier to NASA and I’m proud of it beyond words.

Baikonur, the launch site and the entire infrastructure is under the jurisdiction of Roscosmos. But the Baikonur cosmodrome is in Kazakhstan. After the collapse of the USSR, Russia leased the territory. If you want to look at the cosmodromes in Russia then you need to visit the : Plesetsk,Kapustin Yar and Vostochny. :-)

Why it has to be close to equator??? Can anybody explain
@soulfox32
@soulfox32 6 лет назад
Could be because its the fastest transit zone
@markzummallen9047
@markzummallen9047 6 лет назад
It is to take advantage of the higher rotational velocity of the earths surface, tangential to the surface, at the equator. The rotational velocity at the equator is, roughly speaking, 1000mph. This decreases as you move away from the equator towards either pole and, at the poles, equals zero. This "free boost" closer to the equator allows for less fuel consumption during a launch. The European Space Agency's launch site in French Guiana on the northeast coast of South America probably takes advantage of this fact the most, but it is also why the Kennedy Space Center is located about as far south as you can get in the US.

Manned missions to Mars are a dead end because of radiation and the dream that we will be an interplanetary species belongs to science fiction. Rovers not Astronauts will learn more about Mars and those that might go there then return will be dying of radiation by the time they breath the air on earth again.
@LS-Moto
@LS-Moto 6 лет назад
With current technology, yes its hardly survivable. But I always look at hoe far we have come. Imagine being in the middle ages. Who would have thought there that one day, we would be driving cars, flying planes, and going to space with rockets - even living in space for an extended period of time? One day, someone will walk on the moon. If you said that, they would have said its impossible and that will never happen. Amd yet, here we are. So yes, some things are impossible right now, but I believe that we can find solutions to all these problems. We made so many impossibilities possible, why not a Mars mission?
